Game crashes upon loading saves

A city I've spent hours on is now apparently totally lost, since attempting to load all three autosaves and the manual save file cause the game to crash instantly and every single time. Have had a back and forth with the support team--disabled mods, edited Steam launch options, deleted and uninstalled/reinstalled clean with no mods, etc. Nothing has solved the problem. Have others had this issue or found a fix? If the city I was building is just gone then I am definitely done with this game for good given it can just pull the rug out from under you.

If you had mods on when the map started it now probably has dependency on them - ie. its not going to load. You'd have to either get the mod updated or revert to the previous edition of the game.

Don't blame CO for your use of code that isn't theirs. Without mods I guarantee the save files would work between versions.

Also....building new cities is sorta the joy of the game.

I mean, sure. It seems like a lot of people are having similar issues with/without mods, so it is not clear to me that mods are the cause. The joy of the game might be more appreciable if you could rely on building a city over time.

The other thing is, I had other saves that used the same mods (Anarcy, ByeByeHomeless, and like 3 others) and even having unsubscribed from those mods and after a clean install, those saves load just fine.

Yeahhh, kind of loses its charm when youve had to restart like 6 different cities over the last few months, with or WITHOUT mods. clown haha

Its worse than just loosing its charm, its loss its entire playability. I have been patient with the game but starting and restating the same city 6 times over a year due saves being corrupted is inexcusable. Thats like reordering food over and over again bc the cook isnt listening. There isnt enough regression testing or QA, this is the same problem ElAr is having

The problem is anarchy. The solution to get you save files working agin is in the paradox forum.

I have exactly the same problem... just built a new city within a week because the other one crashed... this second one also CTD after spending 6 hours building on it today... im about to launch my pc to the stratosphere...(i also saved a lot of times and restarted just to check if it was fine.. and it was for a few hours) I just used some of the most subscribed mods that make it more playable but it seems that's the problem. I'm not feeling starting another city now. Bye

Im going to launch my PC directly into the center of Andromeda. Thats bc im passionate about it. This game has taught me valuable lessons about economics and civil engineering and how my own city could improve its infrastructure. This is what separates the game from SC. My

So i opened the game in safe mode through Skyve and was able to load the save file that was broken. I then saved the file while in safe mode. After restarting the game in normal mode, the save file was able to open without crashing.

I'm having this problem even after uninstalling anarchy and when trying to load saves that were created without mods. This seems to be a problem with the update itself.

The devs really should make the game able to load a save without crashing, even if there's a broken node. In fact, it should highlight the broken node for us.
