If you haven't play Cities Skylines 1, Its a better game, and even better with huge list of mods, and the game is old enough that it plays really well on potato's now, and it doesn't really look much different than CS2.
Next update will be out soon they get back from a legally designated holiday period from the Finnish government. Oh wait, one just came out a few day ago... so there's that dribbling in your face.
Go program your own city simulator if you can do better. Get off steam gaming and go outside, it's healthy. Go lift some weights or go for a run. Or just be unhealthy, fail and go play your poker games or whatever else you do. The type of attitude you have is pathetic.
People are allowed to have opinions, so are you, but at the end of the day it seems like you need to get a life outside of gaming and get some stuff together.
Seriously....for your own best interest for life in general....clean that utter dribble off your lips and take some time to get a life and focus on yourself... I'm not even trying to hate, just stating some truth. Be better and better at it.
I hope you find less anger about the little things in life and can enhance your existence.
I enjoyed the game on it's initial release and it has greatly improved since.
I think this video series is a great recent example to the creativity and diversity the game allows with just a few added mods.

The worst thing about this game is the extreme toxicity of the community. No matter how much the game improves, the rage mob will always find something to be pessimistic about. Game is no where near as bad as these forums make it out to be.
Go to Youtube and search Cities Skylines 2 and you will find plenty of cool videos of players showing off there cities.
It's now September 2024 and those of us still here are still waiting.
A lot of the reviews are bashing the critics, and I really don't know what kind of logic that is, Stockholm Syndrome?
This has nothing to do with the ability to appreciate a city building game, it's a matter of the reputation of the game developer. As a player who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition, none of the updates promised by the developer I was able to experience on time, or if they did roll out they were far below quality. This game has entered the same dilemma as KSP2. The developers are too busy fixing all sorts of bugs to work on new content. There isn't even an official asset import tool to this day. We have to rely on player-developed asset import tool. And all of these can be destroyed by any update. The homeless issue was only fixed a year after release really doesn't make sense to me. Then there's the possible conflict between the postal system and the cargo system, the problems with the tourist system, etc. (Has a hotel ever appeared in your city? No, because tourists only exist in the UI stats, haha)
I'll say it again, it's not about being able to appreciate the game, or respecting the fruits of anyone's labor. It's just about the developers not fulfilling their promises to us as consumers, and a bad consumer experience. The devs are certainly entitled to a nice vacation, which is what anyone deserves. But as developers, they should also ensure the most basic product quality and business reputation. They aren't community contributors who work for love, and this game isn't cheap is it?
CSL2 is a promising game with a great future just like KSP2. Leading the way in the city building category, as a consumer I really want it to get better and I hope CSL2 doesn't make the same mistakes as KSP2. But if you ask me right now to buy the game or not, my answer would be absolutely not, or at least wait two or three years before buying it.
This created a rage mob. I still found enjoyment in it. Since then it has improved. Modding is supported, though still in Beta. I need mods for my gaming experience, and the best thing I did was integrate Skyve. The PDX mod loading seems bugy. It will work sometimes and fail others. Skyve is answer.
Is $50 a big segment of your entertainment budget? Do you have a decent gaming rig? Are you going to make sure the whole world suffers if you are dissappointed? Then dont. There is a dedicated cadre of 'CO must die' fanatics on the board and they will do everything in their power to discourage you. I have had many up and down experiences with the game, but as of right now it is running pretty flawlessly. Also, PC specs are key. This game eats resources, so no potatos need apply.
The total Steam user score has been at ~53% for a long time,
most likely neither another 6% user-rated DLC, or something better released,
will move it from there.
Perhaps -+ 5% in 2027, let`s see.
Tho I would recommend that you buy it if interested from steam and then refund if its not for you within the 2 hour limit. Not sure if its currently on game pass still, I dont have that.
Dont rely on feedback from here or anywhere really. There has been too much water under the bridge and the community here and elsewhere are polarised, one half will go over the top to promote and the other half will bash it to the floor. Test it yourself and note the refund policy wherever you purchase it from in case it doesn't float your boat
