It's definitely gotten better since release. Some self-centered people on this forum who have never coded anything or even modified an XML file for a game mod apparently expected all the features of the mods from CS1 to be integrated for some reason. The modding community is great though and actually puts in work to help make the game better instead of complaining and crying
Lots of crybabies in this forum. Some of them literally sound like bots or mentally ill or something, and if they're not, they might as well be.....
I can run stable with a ton of mods. I think the asset issue is probably on the console side, since they want mods for consoles but Sony and MS isn't very mod friendly.
Of course, like any game some mods will break the game after an update until the modder updates it. In comparison, GTA is wayyyy more of a PITA to get running modded after Rstar updates..... wait for RAGE, scripthook and .ASI updates then reinstall your whole mods folder through openIV....lol..CO actually supports the modders. Use Skyve for better mod stability.
I played CS1 vanilla on xbox, then upgraded to CS1 on PC for the mods, and I'm excited to see CS2 and the community growing from it's start. Grew up playing the early SimCity
The games designed to be relative for the next 5-10 years, so don't try to run everything on max unless you have a solid gaming rig. It seems they dev'd it to stay relevant for a number of years.
There is nothing that it can offer you that other city builders cant. Their is a huge team of developers from Finland that are not working at bringing the game to a suitable standard and the game is still being falsely advertised with make believe updates put out with so called fixes that have not been fixed.
Their is no community because no one plays it apart from painters and decorators.
The game itself is outright boring and easily completed with just a few hours play. It is at best a demo compared to more popular city builders and skylines 2 should not be in the same category.
I tried watching the paint dry but thankfully the game crashed out and continues to do so. Now I can finally put to bed the worst gaming experience of my life. This team of devs are to be avoided at all costs. the whole development of the game consists of lies, misleading info, and fraudulent activity. Never to be trusted again.
why not reading through some threads and watching some newer videos for making your own decision?
nonsens. hit a channel with low subs or videos with under 50 views. it's not that big conspiracy you're painting everywhere. i'm also not right with the way this all turned out and i don't trust the big channels. but there are a lot of other small channels which do not gain money through their videos. they don't use filters and such they're just playing. and they're honest bc they have nothing to lose.
i don't like the way co is handling all this mess they're responsible of together with pdx. but not everybody is telling lies like biffa. it seems you got a little bit small minded with all your anger and in some way blind. too blind to see that there are others who are also not happy that this game is a big mess. it only takes you 5 minutes in yt search to find out.i f you do your research on channels who are making profit out of it than you're doing something wrong. i assume that you don't do that if you're looking for an honest opinion. you're not the only one who left a bad review for this game as you can see on the shopsite.
thats exactly why i asked the OP (and not YOU) why not researching overall for himself about that instead of getting fanboys advertising.
The simulation part, well, not so much... Snail paced simulation speeds in medium to larger sized cities and frequent crashes, plus rather inflexible zoning demand. No Steam Workshop support does not help.
There is a reason why reviews are mixed.
I do not judge things in black and white so I gave the game a passing grade in my review, just barely though.
Do your homework beforehand, as this is not a game where you can see the main issues within Steam's 2 hour gameplay refund time.
if he was that smart to find out he wouldn't have bought the game in first place.
I would say use your own judgement.
If you are just a gamer with tons of games I would say no. It's pricey and geared more to a more advanced type discipline user.
If you know city builders, then yes, this is the most state of the art, even in it's current young, limited phase and worth it in the long term.
By the looks of all the responses you got and no real, quality response back, I would pretty much estimate for you being the OP, it would be a big no. I can pretty much gauge a poster and responder simply by a sentence or one paragraph written. Many here can.
Maybe Stellaris, Manor Lords or Mario is more your speed.
Use your lunch money mom gave you elsewhere.
Agree.
