State of the game now?

Not played since launch and everytime I think about playing again, I have flashbacks of how bad it was at launch and then decide not to play.

I loved all the Cities games and absolutely loved Cities Skylines 1 but the new one really disappointed me but I have seen updates released and wondered if it's a better time to play.

Lol. Nothing really changed through year. Yes, people's have made some mods and thats it all. Core mechanics of game and economy simulation is still not present and definitely not working. Ah yes some will say they fixed traffic....well no....they just made it faster to teleport so that why people are complaining less.

Go to the official forum and skim through the latest topic titles.

I do that every so often just to check if the game is yet buy-able. It seems for every bit that gets fixed another problem comes up and there are still missing features that were meant to be in at launch.

The game is 100 times better then it was at launch. I actually didn't mind it at launch besides the fact it kept crashing. The Mods are a must, which I do hate. This game is unplayable without certain mods but I do like playing. This last patch ruined a few mods but coming in fresh you will like it. Bye Bye Homeless is by far the MOST important mod and it's not working right now,

Is it better? Err, I guess marginally. Its not worse, thats for sure, but I wouldn't say its noticeably better. The game is still a bore. There's still NO asset editor, no way to get custom assets, and a severe lack of content. Along with various bugs (some of which did not exist at launch and are now game breaking bugs for some people), and simulation issues. Their only big achievement was implementing mod support (and thats still in beta).

Also, theres about 3 different topics made on this forum every single day that ask this exact same question, almost verbatim. may want to try searching the forum before making duplicate posts

The game is better in the sense that putting a blanket on top of a broken couch with wood beams sticking out of it into your ass is "more comfortable".

How? its not even stable. They keep creating more and more DLCs and yet the game has more issues than playboy. I really wish they would stop all other projects and put all their resources into making this a solid game that does not crash and can be played by the vast majority of players. I bet it wouldn't even take them a couple of months. Yes the game is better than the release version but it feels like they have just thrown band aids on it and not actually fixed it. The modding community has created a bunch of these band aids for the game but it shouldn't be their job to fix the base game. I bet we could have some pretty cool mods if the modding community didn't have to first create a mod to make the game playable.

Please just please fix the base game first before pushing more stuff that will break the game.
