Game wont load

Game won't load, wont even bring up a splash screen. Not getting the impression that its happening to many people though

Really doesn't load it, I noticed, after installing the pack, France, Germany and UK the game takes a lot longer to load. With me 1-2 minutes longer for the Germany pack, 3-4 minutes longer for the France pack and UK now needs about 6 minutes.

I can currently confidently prepare my dinner until the game is finally loaded. How will that only be when all packs are published 😱.

Same here. The game worked ok the night before the 1.1.12.f patch, but now it fails to load splash screens etc when selecting "Play" (or whatever is not "continue"). The cursor goes from circle (=load) to arrow (human control), but the screen remains black

The game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks. Paradox have really shat the bed with this game. Cant even load to remove or add mods etc. Should have stuck with workshop.

I am having the same problem. It says the Paradox Launcher is not found, confirms instillation and crashes. CS 2 will not open. I got it to open one time by closing Steam completely, running the CS2.exe file as Admin and it loaded and ran well. Now this isn't working either and this makes no sense at all.

Happening to me. This update broke a few of mods I used and now I can't even load it so can't even DISABLE them. When will this mess ever end?

The thing is, they should automatically disable mods if it's an update so we can at least disable them or enable them. I'm at a lost for words.

I can click play and then it shows the companies that are responsible for the game and then it goes black and then I am sitting at the desktop with no explanation on what happened other than it crashed. I have tried to look for the crash files so I can see why but it doesn't create one. I have done everything except deleting this file crix and installing a different older version that you can only get from windows 10 store. (That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard to do). I am going to be uninstalling the game and reinstalling for another shot sense they did push a small fix. (besides the fix is for other things and not crashing issues). Would be nice to actually get this fixed because if not I wasted a ton of money on a desktop icon.

Same problem, won't load any saves after recent update. Doesn't crash, just won't load saves. If I disable all mods saves will open, however, it is in some kind of full screen mode. IOWs, no command icons, menus, etc. Keyboard commands don't work either. I have to window out to steam and kill the game there.

And just like that, it will now load a save without mods. With mods enabled, I now have the weird "full screen" with no icons, etc.

CO should add to the min specs to run game that a BA in computer science is recommended.

same problem once i hit play or resume, the game acts like its going to load and then nothing, goes to the desktop like i hadn't even started the game super frustrating......

I messed with this same issue for a few days and I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and it still was having issues and crashing. The thing I did after that was uninstall it and go through the computer files and find every single file that was associated with Cities Skylines 2 to include the hidden files in the low folder. I even uninstalled skyve and all the mods as well. I reinstalled and re downloaded all the mods and now it works. The only really annoying thing is it takes like 20 minutes for the game to load once I hit the loading screen. Another weird thing was the vanilla mod manager for the game never downloaded the newest versions of the mods so i was having tons of crashes with mods. I had to use skyve to go in and update every single one by one.
