Geothermal power plant and groundwater pollution?
I am not planning on this just yet but maybe the future. Is there anything negative on placing a geothermal power plant on polluted groundwater, say placing it near an industrial area?

No, no negatives... In fact it WILL convert any ground water deposit you place it on into polluted water. So the best place for it actually is in the middle of an industrial area anyway.
