Cities Skylines 2 does not save locally and via Steam Cloud on GeforceNow
Hello everyone,

about two months ago my Cities Skylines 2 stopped saving when I saved locally on my computer. I contacted the support and they told me to save it via steam cloud.
I did that for about two weeks and before starting the game there always was a warning sign that the steam Cloud does not work and might not be up to date and that if I hit play I might loose my saves.
However, this was not the case and my saves via the steam cloud were all there, although there was this strange warning sign.
After another two weeks the steam cloud stopped working completely and although I have my older Steam cloud saves still in my saved games, I am unable to add any new. That is frustrating because when I build a new highway interchange, it was all gone when I uploaded to the game the next day.

By the way, I play via GEFORCENOW

Yesterday I started playing again and it somehow did save via the steam cloud. So I build a very detailled city today. I saved it locally and via the steam cloud several times and even checked in the main menu, if it was there and it was was. But when I came back from getting my food, it was all gone.

It is so sad frustrating and bad at the same time, because I put so much effort in it.
If I cant save my game what is even the point in playing the game and being a member in GeforceNow.

If someone has any advice, please let me know.

Best,
Luca

I think, that if you sync your saves to the steam cloud, and that location (steam cloud) is empty, it will delete the local saves.
Make sure to back up your local saves before starting to play around with this!

Also, I think this is one of the things steam is implementing "checks" for. Steam cloud is if you use the STEAM CLIENT, not some other client like GOG or gforce now.. So it might be a good idea to expect this to break even further in the future.
