The wealthy, employed, homeless parkdwellers bug
...Is annoying the hell out of me.

To be specific: this bug entails the complete lack of residential demand (minus from empty houses) while parks are filled with homeless cims that are wealthy and employed. Disabling homeless in dev mode only clears the homeless within dev mode. Restarting in normal mode wil respawn the park occupants.

There already have been a couple of posts about this game-stopper. With this post I hope we as consumers can get more attention and traction with Paradox and CO to fix this ♥♥♥♥-up as soon a possible.

Below is a reply I posted a couple of days ago on the Paradox forum which sums up my thoughts about this issue.

I will now go into complete complain mode.

The fact that the makers of the game haven't found a root cause yet implies that they don't know how the thing they made even works. Which is quite perplexing. They're able to make cims occupy parks but are unable to stop this? Why parks and not empty spaces on the map? Why can wealthy, employed cims even become homeless? Come to think of it: why can't I make vagrancy a crime (for a minor happiness penalty) and get these cims arrested and put in jail? My city at least has more than ample space there.

These are not magical things that happen but conscious coding decisions.

It all sounds like they got too hooked up on the idea "let homeless cims occupy parks just like the Occupy Movement!". I even like to insinuate that like the economy debacle CO was more focused on making a pretty, quirky showcase than an actually functional game. Prove me wrong.

That we're almost a year after launch makes it so annoying. CO ánd Paradox have a responsibility to their customers. So, I actually like to demand a timeline.

And I sure as hell hope that we don't have to wait for a fix longer because some devs are on vacation. In every (ICT) job I had I would be called back from vacation to fix such a ♥♥♥♥-up. And rightfully so.

Nice tinfoil theory on the complain part, but CO hasn't even looked at it yet as they've been on their summer holidays are only now back at the office.

Homeless are supposed to leave after they fail finding a new apartment, and which they do when you don't have parks in your city. So the bug is now causing the homeless type of people who lost their home for player bulldozing the building not to find a new place to live in, but they don't leave the city either.

Thanks for this addition. It seems indeed related to bulldozing residential buildings.

This game has so many bugs still its not even worth playing yet untill theyve fixed in 10 years time.
The game was playable and CO's road to redemption looked bright but they again showed their promises were hollow, only filled with corporate newspeak.
CO hasn't even looked at it yet.
Laughable.
Let's 'hope' they 'look at it' before next weeks month long vacation.

That's exactly the position I'm in; lots of free time to play but can't because of some game developers don't understand their own game.

How the bug manifests reeks of messed-up priorities. Homeless sleep under bridges and in derelict buildings, not in parks. It sounds like some kind of unrealistic, romantic thing rich people think.
If homeless people are a game mechanic than you should be able to influence or control it.
