How is it after Economy 2.0?
Was the update good? Or was it another disaster?

IF it worked, it would be good.
IF it did not add 30 new bugs, it would be good.
IF they made hot-fixes instead of month long constant vacations, it would be good.

I really like the 2.0 overhaul.
But the bugs, cant play the game on this moment because of it.

This game is not playable in its current state. Its really a shame that this game is likely to be abandoned because the devs are not competent. Original Cities Skylines did not have these quality issues.

Just rage quitted because my tramway decided to go on a strike. (I mean, they stopped for no reason in the middle of the road).

Just nonsense.

1 step forward, 30 steps back.

I was playing from day one, and Economy 2.0 is what made me stop playing, and truly worry about the future of this game.
Any "challenge" (as some like to claim there is now) is artificial. Give less money to the player, force to pay more. The changes for Eco 2.0 are anti-fun, as you just follow a meta to get your city going now.

This doesn't even include the game breaking bugs the update added.

There's already a mod out that hotfixes the city breaking office employment bug. All of the other changes are still too early to really tell.

I can not find this mod, but honestly feels like they made tiles the big expense so you are discuraged too build anything but a maximum density cube... low density zones are useless. also designs

To answer the OP;
The game is supremely playable.

The 5-5 bug for commercial has not slowed any of my cities. They are showing up occasionally causing no playbilty issues. I have not found any 5-5 in Office and a few in commercial.

The fact is all of my cities online and off line are just running great, not fast by any means, just great.

Things are going in the right direction patch wise.

The new economy presents more challenges. I believe the game could benefit from additional production chain control, similar to what we have in the Industries DLC for Cities: Skylines or Sim City. The economy has improved, but it's still not quite enough to keep it engaging.

The mod is called Profit Based Industry and Office.

This update runs your economy straight into the ground. New and existing cities.

It is a good patch.
These eco mechanics will improve even more over time.
Everything little matters from power use, employment, etc to efficiency and thus outcomes.
Let it run a while after economy calibrations.
Lots of micro to macro totals eco work, if one is into it.
If you like these aspects, it is neat.
A huge improvement from CS.

For me being also a player (mega build), uh, no.
Too much data, issue adjustments and weighing it all out to keep high net treasury income.
I do read everything at issue and look at all features and components to know them.
It is just much data economy detailing within a large region and as so long as the economic region is ok, it is ok with me. I will use unlimited money. Turn a feature off, activate a mod or I just buy my way through it all, like real life.

For me being mayor, like a real mayor, I will just let other departments do it for me.
I will hold out for more updates, patches and the magic
Auto Macro Economy Balance deluxe mod.

I never make things more difficult than they have to be.
With building large, you can’t.
You will never have a large nice extensive region always being preoccupied with a few minute things.

Mods.
Freeze build to perfection.
Save.

I then let it run, party in the few hours I have left, recheck it, tune it/resculpt. Awesome.
Save.
