No air pollution + other things
I decided to try this new update on Game Pass. Got a nice small 15k town going, but the strangest thing is that there's no air pollution from industry. Only my massive landfill which is already complete full in this tiny town generates a bit of air pollution. Nothing else.

A known bug? Of course it's kind of nice of having no air pollution, but it breaks the game kind of as you can build industry where you like. No need to keep it far from residential areas.

I started with farms and then started building a bit of industry, but this can't be the reason why there's no air pollution as there's all sort of industry and I can see the factory chimneys pouring black smoke. So I guess I broke something with this town?

Other things that kind of kill my enjoyment is the garbage accumulation. I mean a tiny 15k town has a massive landfill with upgrades and even that is already completely full.

The unemployment is rampant with 30% and not going down even when I've now built only offices and commercial. Which seems to have endless need which also does not seem right in such a tiny town.

No mods in use.

It's a shame that there's so many things in the game that just feels off that it kills the enjoyment for me. That's why I haven't bought this. Rather play CS1 and even went back to SimCity 4.

The update completely changed how many workers work in industrial buildings to a much lower number, so your unemployment issues come from that. I had like 50% unemployment when I first loaded my city after the patch, and now it's down to about 25% after a few hours of slowly placing more industry and office zones.

I think there is a bug with air pollution as the only building that seems to have any on mine is the gas power plant.
As for unemployment, check a few offices. There is currently a new bug where offices drop down to 5 employees. Even skyscraping office towers.

I came here specifically because I had a heavy concentration of industry upwind of residential and I thought the Cims would complain. Nope. Checked my air pollution map and there is none--except directly over the industrial buildings. So what's the point of building residential away from industrial wind?

The point? Noise pollution is about all good cities get from industry and commercial. Lots of western world cities mostly reduced industry air polution years ago. Where I live there is none. Why can't CS2 be like the western world?

Everything is not a bug good or bad is it?

I haven't kept up with all the patches, but was the air pollution thing reduced or removed in some patch? Because I do remember playing in April and back then, the air pollution was heavy and an issue which you needed to think about. But now the wind direction doesn't really seem to matter anymore at all.

Just not sure if it's a bug, removed with a patch or something else?
