Homeless, Unemployment, Demand
After the patch I have noticed thousands of homeless now. The unemployment rate is around 66 %, although there are enough jobs (job statistics themselves are fine). If the demand allows it I build thousands of new homes (410.000 residents now), obviously people move in, but the number of homeless in the streets doesn't seem to go down.

I playing with the following mods that might affect these effects:
more deathcare, crime remover, magical rehearse, school caapacity balancer, magical garbage truck, abandoned building remover, no pollution

I dont play with mods and my city is dying
I started a new city after the patch because I couldn't be bothered figuring it all out. I have a few homeless and if I find them I send them on their way with Anarchy. Don't know if it helps, but for me it's like Planet Zoo - finding pick pockets and calling security. Gone. Same with criminals. Poof. Gone. A fun side bar to the worry of traffic, making money and buying tiles. I only play with a few mods - Anarchy, Line tool etc, quite basic. My unemployment is around 16% and I have around 40,000 residents so far. I try to keep building workplaces in line with any housing. Have read that unemployment leads to crime - go figure. I don't build many offices atm because I hear there's a bug. Hope you can solve your homeless problem. I've tried building low rent housing close to them, but no luck.

It's a known bug that occurs when you demolish buildings. The residents will become homeless forever. A simple fix is to build some public transport (e.g. bus) connect city to outside connection, which allows homeless leave.
The unemployment is probably caused my thousands of outsiders working in your city. I just found it in one of the statistics pages, and there are no openings. No idea how to fix it though, probably would need a patch for this as well.

I don't know if it was the public transport to outside trick or the new patch: But the unemployment which is said to go be caused by countless homeless has dropped down now from 66 to 20 %. Now I've got a big surplus with jobs, but unfortunately still no residential demand. I'm till waiting for that to change ... I still notice a lot homeless in the streets though – maybe they don't have an effect on the unemployment at all ... I don't know ...

I am running into the same problem, I noticed my demand bar depleted and never fill back up again, looking for a reason in the stats of my city I see that my unemployment rate is above 62%... so now i'm even more confused, huge unemployement but 0 demand for jobs... has to be a bug.

I did BUSSES to all external cities and they are leaving. Whenever you destroy a inhabited building or a home is too high rent and they abandon, they become homeless. They need a way to leave the city otherwise they will wander about "HOMELESS" until they die. Yup that about sums it up. Give your homeless a way to leave the city.

I think they gotta allow for homeless to find jobs again. Just my thinking.

I’d like to see special buildings in the game specifically for the homeless. Shelters they can use to help get them back on their feet and find work, thereby helping them to get a home and become a productive member of the community again.

I was thinking the same thing, it would be so cool!

Does the bus trick work with parks etc. built in your city or do you still need to remove those to get homeless totally out?

I have not removed any parks as I noticed that the homeless then just keep standing on the sidewalk

I just set all pblic tzraffic to ticket price zero. Now, from 66 to 20 % unemployment, I still see lots of homeless, I don't know whether that rely goes together ... I will lift the ticket prices later on and see what will hapen.
