Post sorting facility broken?

I have -10 happiness at the moment because my citizens are not happy with the mail services. My one post office has its storage full, but no vans operating. I built a Post sorting facility which has max employees, but it isnt sorting any mail at all and has 0/5 trucks operating.. My Mail rate pm is 120k while processing rate is 40k pm. This issue is killing my city now and is pretty frustrating, unless i am missing something totally...

Post does work so the question is, what is the issue in your game.

Post office storage, is it mail to deliver or collected mail? Or both?

Sorting facility does sort the loads when they come in and stops when the unsorted mail drops to 0.

Have you built enough mailboxes, post offices and assigned them to districts if you've made districts?

I have 6 post offices, all assigned to districts and most are less than 50% capacity. Sometimes when 1 fills up, the office just stops working totally. No trucks get dispatched and i have to build an extension for it to work again. Even then the post sorting facility does nothing at all. I have mail boxes spread out across my city so every area is covered well. The post sorting facility should be delivering external mail out of the city shouldnt it? So at least 1 truck should be doing something, and it should have some mail in the facility, not 0.

There is almost no mail to collect, but stored mail is through the roof..

Same here, must be a bug. I have 4 post offices and they are all full. Everytime I build one it works until it gets full then stops working. I have a sorting facility and it does nothing. I've tried moving it, demolishing it, building a second one, turning it on and off, and upgrading it. I cannot get it to work.

Can you set the post office to empty? See if you can get the post office to transfer mail to the sorting facility. I had to do this for a bit with my landfills when I built an incinerator.

In my city I have the same issue. The effisency is 105% but there are no mails stored or any sorting speed. I found a workaround on YT, it says the sorting center is working if you remove your cargo habor and your cargo train termina. But thats no solution.

Not relevant anymore. I got 270k city with a few post offices and 2 sorting facilities and everything works normally.

Need more info about your setup to be able to troubleshoot.

Maybe I should start a new city, because I had another issue. I have no hotels in my city.

I have the exact same scenario as OP, but the funny thing is, after the last update, and me building a cargo harbor, the sorting facility started working, a little. But only half assed, like, its not sending trucks to pick up the 50t (IIRC) EACH at train or boat.
It only delivers to the closest ones, the ones furthest away are all 100% filled.

I built another facility right next to the harbor to see if it would pick up the other ones that then was way closer, but nope, it did nothing, for a year or so, and then suddenly when I checked, there was a tiiiiny bit of mail in it. No idea when or how it arrived there.

Anybody found a proper workaround willing to share?

I have also built an extra sorting facility, but it didn't make any difference. There is a very small amount of mail stored but no trucks ever get dispatched, while the small post offices are loaded with mail but only 1-2 trucks dispatched at times..

Randomly there will be a burst of mail sorting at the sorting facility, with the demand way exceeding the capacity, but then after a few minutes it appears to effectively ♥♥♥♥ down again...

Because mail moves in batches of 25 tonnes. After that's sorted, facility will stop. Post offices take a while to gather 25 tonne shipment for the facility so there is every now and then a batch to sort unless your city is really big.

Only liar here is you, and you just proved it. Mail does work. It may not work as you imagine it to work, but that's a you problem. Not a game problem.
