Is the game challenging now?
Haven't played in a few months. My biggest wish was for the game to always be challenging for the player. Has this been fixed with 2.0? How do you find the economy. As challenging and rewarding as it should feel?

Yes, but I'm only at 25k pop so I can't say how the difficulty curve affects later play.

Oh yes.

Initial start of the game seems challenging, or somewhat more challenging.. Although I found that if you figure out how to keep demand for industry and housing up past the first few milestones, then it's not really all that difficult.

Atleast things are making much more sense now on the economy side of things than it did before.

I've been playing for less than day and got 61K, and a monthly income of roughly 7-9 million..

at 38k now and its easy for an experienced Cities Skylines player and challenging for a new player.

I was kind of hoping it would remain challenging. I'm at 16k population now and I'm already making $750,000 per month. I'm hoping it doesn't get to a stage where you don't have to worry about anything soon and are able to paint the map. For the simulation to matter then there needs to be consequences

No not at all. If you know how to play city builders and understand about how to run an economy. Then this would be one of the most easiest games in the genre. I am currently on 300k population and have found frogger more of a challenge. No mods just pure vanilla. I mean I left it running for more than an hour and when I came back the only change was my bank balance. I now have more money than Elon Musk and nothing to spend it on.

I feel you don't even need to know how to run an economy. I feel all you need to do is put paint what the game tells you. If there is demand for commercial then Paint commercial, if there is demand for industry then paint some tiles industry and the same for all the other needs and then just watch the income take off. I genuinely don't know how people are struggling. I'm an average city builder and I'm truly surprised how easy 2.0 is. I don't find it any harder than 1.0
