Also, you will need to create a Paradox account (yep, give them your data).
One thing to mention, is that mods wont work as a OOB experience, you need to install mod tools from the game options menu which will be problematic.
Not actually sure if that is mandatory, but mods only loaded after i did that.
CS2 is in a alpha state (they say beta, but it is a low quality even for BETA) and it is a shame.
They Say BETA? WTF they told me it was finished! Thats why they were charging full price of £75.
if it says restart, just close the game and open again. As long GFN picks the same machine you just installed mods, it should be fine. although i believe it can be problematic if it doesn't.
nvm i'll wait for the full release to play with mods
Wow! Good to know. GFN has released in my country. I tough on signing up for it, but never went ahead. Now, knowing that, i am sure wont. Not every game has steam cloud feature.
I'm aware that many games operate this way, but it's 2024, and games that properly implement mods utilize a launcher to prepare the mods before launching the game. I believe if CO/PDX adopted this approach, we would have better modding support, even for platforms like GFN or similar.
The issue lies in their desire for a single solution for every platform, leading them to embed modding into the main game, requiring a game restart for new mods to take effect. Even when a mod is updated, a game restart is necessary for it to load.
I understand that Windows locks the DLL, making it impossible to overwrite once it's loaded (other operating systems like Linux may not do this, and consoles might not either), which is why we're plagued with this model. It's evident that even they don't fully grasp how it works, given they launched it in this state. Calling it beta is ludicrous, given all the effort players need to put in for it to function properly, when it does work.
