Losing population for what seems like no reason.
I have 4,5k citizens in my city, and I have all zoning types, all services, my citizens are really happy and I even set residential taxes to -1% but I'm still losing 18 citizens per hour. Why? Also I have 0 demand, none at all.

And perhaps try to find some citizens that do leave your city. And look at the bird, sometimes the citizens are telling things there.
At one point in mine, they left to go to University. So I build first a college and not much later a University, even so I thought my city was too small for it.

you have only 4 500 citizens? but all services?
Like elementary school, High School, College, University, Medical University, .....
all kind of parks?

I suppose you play with everything unlocked, but still, the information you gave us above is just not enough to even guess what the problem may be

I didn't mean all Services, I meant all the nessecary services for the city to work. (For example water, sewage, police and so on.) I also have parks that cover the whole city, internet service for the whole city and mail service for the whole city. I also have elementary school and high school. I also don't have traffic problems.

I am not playing with everything unlocked.

Thank You for your help! Tell me if there is more information that you would like to know.

Thank You! As soon as I built a college I started gaining 10 citizens per hour instead of losing 18.

I have a question, because I play on the Archipelago map I was forced to put the Industrial zone on another island, about 5km away from the city. Can that also be a reason that I was losing population, because the workplaces were too far away?
Caprea May 5, 2024 @ 1:33am
Can you build a good public transport between those islands? Perhaps using underground metro?

Even so, perhaps a ship line may look nicer, but then they have to go to and from the harbour on each side.

I don't have the progression points to unlock metro and I am barely making any xp because I'm not gaining population, but I currently have a bus line that runs between the two islands.

Sorry, I forgot about the progression points for metro. But they do travel a bit to work

yea, I think once I unlock the metro that will help my city quite a bit.

Okay I hate Cities Skylines I just spent 6 hours playing the game until I finally unlocked the metro and I also made a bunch of bus lines while making and now the game closed itself for no reason at all and deleted all my progress but thank you for your help!

Did you not enable autosave?
Blobfish May 5, 2024 @ 8:36am
It wasn't enabled by default, but I enabled it now. Paradox should enable it by default, they are well aware of the random crashes.

Well, how often? I would not want a save every 5 minute, and I do not want 10 saves. Everyone is different.
But yes, at the moment, crashes seem to be more often, in the last months I had some, in all the time before, I think only 1. Hopefully that will get less again.

Right now I have Autosave set to every 5 minutes, and maximum of 3 saves

If you don't fulfill all their needs they move out. It could be TAX,WORK, PARKS, Pollution, Entertainment, bad mail services, and or anything really. Just fix it and they come back.
