FYI Game is dead since its release launch
They gave up on bug management in November 2023,
that's also the time when they stopped with notable Steam moderation.

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/cities-skylines-2-bug-reports.1162/page-118

IMHO this game has been dead since launch release day.
Some people are still chasing a dream...

And don't pretend you are not one of them who are still chasing a dream, because if not, you would already moved on to another game...

My point still stand. Why would you invested your time to game with so negative review rate, where you also believe it is already dead since release day? I.e. you are still checking the game, because you want to believe it will get better.

Additionally, I believe you are making wrong conclusions...

First of all, the developer does not have to react to any bug reports, as stated in their video before Christmas, they were fully aware about the state of the game. First bug reports just confirmed their thoughts.

If you look at the bug reports, they have a lot of duplicates.

The developer do not react, because the community is not that important to them. If we praise them, yes they will react. But once we do not like something, they will go to the ignore mode.

At this moment we do not know if the developer and publisher already gave up. We can only guess.

Qualitify of patches we received so far, could be explained that they gave up, and focusing on the console release so they can have more sales. Or you can look at it as they not competent enough to fix the game.

The decreased effort in moderation happened later. I would say mid February. In March you can say almost anything even on their official forum. Lately moderators are closing duplicates, or threads which are not in English.

My conclusing for the CS2, based on the informations I was able to collect are, that the CO is still working on the game, but as always they designed the game above their qualification. The question is if the publisher will give them enough time to get better and fix at least major problems.

Once the game is released on consoles, or console release is cancelled, than the next step will tell us if the game is dead or not.

because the game sucks and we're disappointed. seems pretty understandable to me bro.

You know did it occur to you that people want to voice their dissatisfaction? People are like this, and as a consumer it is their right so its worth you getting over this, because there will always be angry negative reviews from die hard fans that can see they ruined the game and its release altogether.

Cheers

+1 good read

Some people enjoy Steam forums, the Steam community aspect, Steam game stats, a game`s development process/history/company mismanagement/success stories.

IMHO a good argument about a game does not include personal user content.
OK, agree with that.

In the case you are here to enjoy the community, let me share a link to YouTube's short, which IMHO summarize the CS2. He even get almost precise price in EUR

BTW, Why are you changing your nickname so often? Is it, so none can connect the previous posts you made?

You should know, that I am not defending the game, the developer or publisher.

It is OK to voice your dissatisfaction, but if you are writing over and over again: "The game is dead for a long time", I am sking for your motive. The only logical conclusion for me is that deep down you still beleive that miracle will happen and the game will actually get better.

If something is dead to me, I move on, but that's me. I just down enjoy beating the dead horse.

Most are not.
It is just that you are all over the map.
One day this view, next day this view, third day this name, fifth day this view.
One cannot gauge really where you are coming from, so they address it.
Anyone would.
You see it as attacking.

What is your purpose?
Most see it as confusion, from your behalf.

I know you truly like CSII.
Just impatient.

I kindly ask you, if you would like me to send you a list of 10 personal questions and if you could kindly post your answers here to the public ? Would you enjoy that ? :D
If the questions would be relevant to the topic, why not.

And If I would recommend this or any other game? If I do not know the person's preferences, I would not be able to give them a good advice. Sometimes you need to get personal. Plus sometimes is better, if people build their stand on the facts, not on what other people think. Yes, I do not enjoy the game, but I know that even at current stage, it can be enjoyable to someone else.

And the future of CS2? Man, I do not have high hopes, but I believe the CO would be able to create decent city painter out of it. Even CS1 in it's core, i.e. without DLCs, is and always was primarily a city painter. IMHO, the CS2 will never become decent city simulator.

My concern is, if the PDX will give the CO enough time. I cannot imagine how the CS2 could have decent console sales with so abysmal rating. That is why I believe that until console release, the CO would be allowed to work on the game. Once the PDX will see a console and DLC sales, than they will decide what to do next. So in my books, the future of CS2 is still open...

IMHO acknowledged facts, preferences, advice and opinions about a game...Differ a lot between people.

I think any Steam forum user is happy about new sources of facts and news about this game,
at the end of the day it's often good discussion material.

Supermarket Simulator had an excellent Steam start with 94% user reviews, whereas this game has not done well.

Positive and negative rating does not guarantee you will like the game as well. It is a good indicator, but if taken on its own, you could be very surprised, you ended up in the minority.

I checked the Supermarket Simulator, and I cannot wrap my head around why people likes it. I sift through the reviews and I found out that I am in minority here, i.e. If I would purchase the game, there is pretty high probability that I would not like it.

For example, I tried God of War, which has even more positive rating, but I did not like it. In my review I even stated, that is not a bad game, just not for me.

See, by your own admision your know you are comparing apples and oranges. Both are games, but completely different genre and audience.

In the case you would like to compare the CS2 with other games, you should pick the ones from same genre

Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic - 24 hours peak 2608
https://steamdb.info/app/784150/charts/

High Rise City - 24 hours peak 117
https://steamdb.info/app/1489970/charts/

City builders has smaller audience, it is just a fact. The CS2 has 24 hours peak at 9,393. Both above mentioned game have more positive rating, but also much smaller playerbase.

BTW. I picked these two games, as for me they are closes competitor to CS2...

You answered your own question, it was compared to Supermarket Simulator as that should be an even smaller audience than that of CS2, and has vastly more players playing (although it is new), which CS2 has struggled to have that number of consistent players for quite some time.

The person you are replying to (i gave up with applying a name) has compared CS2 to CS1 players, and often comically does these sorts of comparisons and other comical threads.

Your conclusions about my statement are incorect, but that is probably my fault, I should be more precise.

I was surprised what people can found entertaining. These types of games are normally created for phones, and I was not expecting that someone will create it for PC and people would be loving it.

Online FPS games (PVP and PVE) and MMORPG games has much bigger player base, than Supermarket Simulator and usually with less positive rating. That is why comparing player bases for games from different genres does not make any sense.

I have to be honest I am checking the player base of CS2 periodically, to see the trend, but it is foolish to create any solid conslusions from it. Every game has its own target, and no one knows what targets are set from PDX. Plus publisher does not care how many gamers are playing their game, they care how much the game and its DLC is selling.

EDIT:
I blocked the OP, so I would not be revisiting this thread.

Everybody has an opinion. I guess my own opinion counts more than everyone here. I like the game, I don't like some aspects and I don't care what some people think when it's my money. Go play somewhere else if you don't like it.
