Map Editor: Water Woes
I got a map with heightmap and worldmap loaded. I ask comfortable with adding water sources to the height map, and understand that worldmap water are added by edge sources.

Trouble is this:
I got a river running through the entire world map, and through the playable area. If I set the river edge source where it begins, I got to set it so high to look approximately correct on high end that it floods the low end world map area. If I set a small ocean edge source at low end to force it to look good there and try to put a river edge source at high end, it doesnt put any water in the high end world map

Any idea how to get the world map water appropriate on the high and low end?

I am experiencing the same issue. Maybe the simplest solution is to play without a world map, but that just breaks immersion. Btw, I still hope that the world map will become playable at some point, otherwise the map ends up being smaller than CS1...

Solution imo would be able to put water sources outside playable area, and let it flow into and out of playable area

we can't really place ANYTHING outside playable area atm... That's why I am a bit sceptical it can be opened by mods.
And everyone saying the map is huge, lol, no, it is smaller than CS1. And the reason why it needs to be bigger is immersion and of course it is going to be impossible to fill it up completely, but what if I wanted to place several smaller towns and villages far apart from each other? Man, CS2 has really been a letdown upon launch but I really hope they fix these issues.

So been working around with this...

Anarchy Mod DOES let me put water sources in the World Map Area

What i need now is for River water to be shown on World Map

After some trial and error, i come to the conclusion that the issue is that the Water Simulation code is not being ran in the World Map Area. Is there a way to mod it in a way to extend the water simulation to include world map area?

From a conversation on the CS Discord about this, there are no mechanics or anything outside of the buildable 529 tiles, only a mesh, so while you can place an object out of the buildable area in the world map, it won't do anything.

The creator of the 529 Tiles mod, algernon, is working on another mod currently called Larger Maps that will open the rest of the world map up for building, but it's going to take some time as they need to do all the programming for the game to be able to use the outer areas of the maps.

This is certainly what I have been looking for! It will help greatly with the immersion.
