It's like they started the game during the pandemic and worked independently until July of 2023, then threw all the different parts together and slathered it with superglue and said, "VIOLA!"
There really are stop signs on all 4 sides.
It's unbelievable.
Notably, the game includes give-way signs, which are automatically provided when you create a T-junction. So it is an intentional design choice. A proper stop sign/give way system as it is used all around the world has been on the community’s wish list since day one. It remains absolutely puzzling why the developers designed an all-four-sides stop sign system. I can not think of any usecase.
