Unable to play - Paradox Mods broken
Hello,

I tried to download some maps recently, one map in particular keeps loading and reloading on the main menu but then I get an error message which prevents me from even looking at Paradox mods, so I cannot unsubscribe from the mods that may be causing the problem.

The other problem here is that because my mods are broken my game no longer works. I have a small city started but nobody will move in, triple speed for several hours and nothing changes.

The error message in case that helps identify the problem:

[object Object] NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at PDX.SDK.Contracts.Error.op_Equality (PDX.SDK.Contracts.Error a, System.Enum b) [0x00003] in <9a653c1f76bd4a659646d1f1ae81bac8>:0 at PDX.ModsUI.EventHandlers.Sync.OnSyncHandler (PDX.ModsUI.Services.IModsService modsService, PDX.ModsUI.UITypes.SyncModsRequest request) [0x004da] in <b450bb7009664a22a54da763679d441c>:0 at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.AsyncMethodBuilderCore+<>c.<ThrowAsync>b__7_0 (System.Object state) [0x00000] in <b89873cb176e44a995a4781c7487d410>:0 at UnityEngine.UnitySynchronizationContext+WorkRequest.Invoke () [0x00002] in <a8fc136049044b19982b5abcb6f6b426>:0 at UnityEngine.UnitySynchronizationContext.Exec () [0x0005d] in <a8fc136049044b19982b5abcb6f6b426>:0 at UnityEngine.UnitySynchronizationContext.ExecuteTasks () [0x00014] in <a8fc136049044b19982b5abcb6f6b426>:0 Colossal.Logging.CustomLogHandler:LogException(Exception, Object) UnityEngine.Logger:LogException(Exception, Object) UnityEngine.Debug:CallOverridenDebugHandler(Exception, Object)

Oh, wow. I have a compiler for error reports that strips out the nonsense and replaces it with plain English so that the error report makes sense... let's see...

ERROR REPORT REPORT:
The Unity Engine code is unable to find something that PDX SDK Equality Contract system is trying find through the PDX Mods Service. Likely this is an attempt to synchronize your installation and their database about your installation.
Likely, the system was unable to find a mod it thinks you have, or it is looking for a mod that is not listed in its own database.
This is common in poorly written code as well as in unfinished code. If this error is frequently appearing, this means the code is improperly written and likely alpha- or beta- release code. If you paid for a game or other software throwing this error you were ripped off. If the developer still exists contact them for any further assistance.

You should probably post this in their official site forums. They don’t talk to us on Steam forums. No clue why.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Bug reports don't go here if you want Paradox to actually see them. Use their official forum for that.

I'm having a similar problem but on the other side. I'm trying to upload two maps and I keep getting error messages. A week or so ago I was able to load a map (Khare Crater) and it uploaded fine. Then, this week I tried two more maps and they keep failing. Really frustrating!

Hello all thanks for your input. I was posting here because I was hoping someone may know the answer rather than reporting it as a bug, which they did!

If you are having this issue, you can go to Paradox mods on a web browser and unsubscribe from the troublesome mod (usually the mod that doesn't load all the way in your main menu) and you should be able to launch normally!
