Everyone in my city died after the update.

So, after the economy update, i booted up my city to check out what had been changed. after vastly raising taxes due to my city now haemorrhaging money, i noticed that my population was quickly decreasing, and then, all at once, every single building in the city suddenly displayed a "waiting for hearse" icon. checking my population statistics, i found this:

what's going on? did i mess something up? i haven't touched healthcare services yet. my city has already lost ~50,000 people, and it's still dropping.

It'll take three maybe four months (in game days) for the death wave and hospitalizations to stop. It is part of 2.0 update in order to stabilize the games features! It's also kind of tough on bigger cities, but eventually it will even out.

sounds like your city was just a retirement home..

This was all mentioned in the patch notes that there will be a "Death Wave". Fortunately for my city, I only had about 500 deaths.
