529 Tile Mod creates $1.5 million deficit
I started a brand new city and from the start I had a $1.5 mil deficit. After going through my mod list I found the 529 Tile Mod by algernon was creating this issue. You may want to disable it until it can be fixed, although, does create an extreme difficulty.

if you read the patch notes it's pointed out and all explained there.

Read the PATCH NOTES!! City tiles now have upkeep. If you don't want to pay those upkeep you need to enable the unlock all tiles in the map settings before loading.
I think it would have been better just to create different difficulty modes, so the game can be played in different ways.

To be fair patch notes are very extensive this time around and full of lines like:
Fixed small issue here
Fixed another thing i didn't even notice there
etc

So i can't blame anybody for not thoroughly reading through all of that just to not miss the important part.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This is an excuse - if anyone is remotely interested in the game they'll take the 10 minutes to read the notes.

Well looks like i'm not even remotely interested in the game then, because while i started reading thoroughly at one point i started to skim through the wall of text - and happened to notice the important bit for what it's worth.

Again, i can't blame anyone for not noticing, but i guess we're just different.

Haha, you must be fun at parties. I apologies that I missed that part of the patch note. I appreciate your help in resolving this issue by your constructive feed back.

I absolutely definitely would too, if just to ensure I'm not talking out of ignorance due to laziness.

Haven't played since first week, and still read them in fact, as they are required for playing the Cities: Skylines II Forum game.

Learn what exactly? What you have taught me is you have a sheer arrogance about yourself. Every post I have see from you today (both in this discussion topic and others) has been about how incredible you are at this game and everyone else is stupid, and needs to quit playing. Toxicity in a community is what can kill a game. Your arrogance can drive others to not support CO and their future endeavors with CS2.

I made my post to help those, like myself, that have a mod that felt broken. I went through and figured out what mod was causing the issue. Then, I made a post so it could became a center point for this issue. After seeing the posts by others to this topic, I learned, I had missed 2 crucial sentences in the patch notes, Thanks to Caprea's answer, who I marked as the answer to this issue, it was resolved by the update to the mod. So now others (wither from laziness to read, or missed parts of the patch notes like myself) who have the same issues can find their answers.

You're an inept pile of rotten trash for even THINKING a mod would work out of the box on a M A J O R patch day. The ENTIRETY of your post was unnecessary. And you're damn right nearly all of my posts point out how stupid people are, especially when their post(s) end with "game still garbage" or "way to go CO". This game has a TON of idiot players, and they need to be called out on it.

L E A R N

I did not think that mods would work after a Major Patch. This is why when I downloaded the patch, I started an entire new city and didn't care about my old saves. Especially, reading about how much work a save could be and seeing the other posts about the issues, i believe I made the right choice. I then went through and checked to see which mods were working and which were not. Which is typical when using mods because even a minor update can cause issues. Anyone who played CS1 and modded it knows this. Some mods update quickly after a patch and are ready, and others are not.

These idiots, as you call them, are just people learning and understanding on how things work. Yes, some are lazy and want things stated for them, but at the same time, its really not that big of a deal.

You see my post was never about why doesn't this mod work. It was simply here is an issue I ran into, and how I concluded my fix. Then others pointed out that there wasn't an issue, and I had not read the patch notes correctly. You see the mod was never broken to begin with, I was just misinformed in how it works with the new patch. I thanked those who helped and we move on. Easy for most of us simple minded people to understand.
