HELP - no demand for anything
I'm building a modded city, I got the info from another thread about the infinite demand (how it only helps to build up zoned areas, but it won't fill them). With that in mind, my city is looking weird.

At only around 19K population, and 1/3 of the map fully built, I have lots of empty buildings (in all categories) but I have no demand for anything.

Patience is key, I know: that is why i let the game run on 3x speed for two days (8-8 hours during my home office shift :D) and I was actually disappointed, that almost 3 in game years has passed, and the population did not grow at all. There are empty zoned areas as well for all the needs, and there're many buildings placed earlier still empty. So if there would be any demand, citizens could move to already existing buildings, or start building themselves. But it just don't want to happen at all.

However during this 3 years ingame time, the city did not grow at all, and there was no demand whatsoever. Do you have any chance why would this happen?

Some additional infos that might clarify the situation:
- every zoning type is used in the city, there are empty zoned areas waiting to be filled, and there are empty buildings as well, placed manually (all types of residential, office and commercial are plopped)
- the city is connected to the outside world, with roads, train routes and plane connection as well
- A weird thing that I've noticed is that many people are using taxis to enter the city (parking space is plenty available).
- The city is happy, many unique buildings have been plopped multiple times
- There's enough coverage for all services
- Tax is moved to 0%

If anyone could help, that would be amazing!

The best course is to learn the game without mods while you accumulate achievements.
The game runs very well without mods, after garnering a good understanding of the game you may benefit from mods but for now its still Beta and is a minefield of pain.

Click on the building icon next to the demand bars and it gives you reasons why demand is down. It also gives good clues on why people aren't moving in. High unemployment and badly balanced education pipeline can be the reason.

See from the other thread, about 2.5 million. Covers full map.

And he is right you know. Mechanics in this game are totally different than in the first one, so it needs a complete re-learning process to understand how stuff works. Sure, there are bugs, but certain principles are still there.

I'm not sure which part is inaccurate?
For sure though mods only slow the game more and make it impossible to get near half the size.

Still in beta for a reason. I am looking forward to the beta period to end.

:P <-----this means I was making a weak attempt at humor. He and I are kindred spirits as regards mods, and I bow to his largest city building prowess.

Duh! Missed that. It was a bad idea to launch beta mods on a seriously crippled game just as the thing began to work. Players still should consider learning the game before they try to fix it with unproven mods.

Kinda like me not being able to tell Friend from foe!

Have you ever heard of Evergrande Group? They too used an infinite demand mod and ended up with no demand for anything.

It's a weird mechanic. The only thing I can reccomend is kinda counterintuitive. Raise taxes a bit, like 8-10%. Dezone some things. Try building some services if you haven't but it sounds like you have. But don't overbuild them.

Mods or not, high land value and empty buildings just detract from anyone moving in. It's kinda a viscious cycle and you have to break it. I'm not sure if this is realistic. But it's better to build a small core with good services and some outlying ones with basic ones (elementary, fire etc. high school isn't even necessary for some reason).
