WOW! Does Economy 2.0. Actually looks promising?
Is it that time? that time we haters finally have to agree that the game has started to gain some traction, and is beginning to look and sound like an actual simulation city builder?
I have just read yesterdays patch notes and the changes that are being implemented look very interesting with the addition of extra surprises added too. With a sort of road map now present and the first DLC to land in Q3 will be free. Have they had a silent takeover? I dont know but it sure looks like the company found its personality again. I dont think I will be the first in the Que to buy the paid DLC but if things regarding this latest update go to plan, I wont be waiting at the back.
Keep up the good work and after the update reviews might even reflect well for the future of CS2.

I'm amazed that you, of all people, are being far more optimistic about it than people who have been steadily defending the game so far.

Economy 2.0

But we'll just have to wait and see. I'm not looking on the bright side of things, but I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong.

I'd rather wait and see than believe what is said.

Didn't do that last time and ended up with an overpriced prerelease I haven't played, and been playing the Forum DLC that's free, since week one.

You got to give credit where its due to be honest Xianli. I never thought I would have to eat my shorts but you got to optimistic as far as the last patch notes were concerned. I just hope they come through and we can lay this game to bed. ie giving people a good game that has some flair with some difficulty, what we paid for.

i have all but given up on the ultimate content and just looking forward to playing again, Hopefully not for a couple of hours this time.

I wish I would have waited but lessons learned from this one. Its on CD keys at the moment with 60% off. Costs about £17. Its not a bad price to be honest and with the update coming Its probably a steal at that.

I'm gratified to see current saves will be maintained, now that I've got one worth saving. Will be off-line for 11 days in Leavenworth starting tomorrow, so should be able to enjoy the patch for about a month before we head to Bend for awhile.

Leavenworth; My favorite place in your Pacific Northwest.

It will be a step in the right directions but I am ready for the asset importer to be ready I know you can get custom assets already but I am afraid that that will break my saves when they do finally get the asset importer sorted for PDX mods. So I am trying to wait it out but I am tired of plopping the same schools and hospitals and police stations over and over again and don't get me started on the lack of parks lol.

Heres hoping. I have the same mindset. I am using mods, but have stayed away from assets for same reason. I am suffering with the crashes, but believe them to be heat related at this point. Likely time to upgrade the GPU. Good luck to us all.

Any idea when the release is coming?

IMHO these posts explain very little. We'll see how it actually plays, what bugs it solves (e.g. high density residential never reaching rank 5), and what bugs it creates.

All I get from these dev blogs is more and more questions.

Any news about the maximum amount of money?

I agree with you OP, this seems like it is going to make the game more challenging and more fun. That was the main problem I have had with the game. It was raining money and after a while the fun just dissapeared.

The most difficult thing in this game is growing and sustaining a healthy vibrant city. One that keeps changing to suit it's needs and mass. A healthy city that can keep on growing long after it runs out of space.

The biggest cities in the world incuding New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo are still growing and improving decades after developing their available physical terrain.

Take some time to look at screenshots of CS2, all you see is little sub 300k populations sprinkled with the rare ridiculously compromised and strangled efforts to go beyond.

Yeah, that's the point of my work. To highlight how hard it already really is to break free from those limits. Sure the game runs well if you can accept a small lifeless restrained city. Actually runs very well, but ask yourselves at which point do YOU hit that invisible wall?

This coming patch promises us nothing to get past those small restricted towns. But it does promise to make it harder to achieve the same result. Just like everyone has demanded. Didn't you?

All we hear lately is "the game is too easy". The game is not easy by any means. And apparently it's going to get harder.

I wish the best of luck to everyone who asked for our little biddy burbs to become even more challenging to build.

You want harder? You got it.
Always be carefull what you wish for.
