Is this game playable yet?
Havent touched it since its crappy launch, and stayed away from it bcuz of all the bugs and lack of accuracy in the simulation I have been seeing people claim. Both friends and youtubers. Is it playable yet? worth getting into? Or should i wait another year

simulation is still fake as it was before, and pc is runing still as one would mine crypto...so nothing in that matter have changed.

There's a "patch" upcoming, but even then, the CEO clearly stated in a prior word of the week that only partial fixes are in place for some critical bugs, more work is needed.

"Q: When will the land value issue finally be fixed?
A: In the next update we’ll have part of it fixed, but the issues that are tied to the economy will take a bit longer to be resolved still."
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/developer-diary/co-word-of-the-week-14.1625153/

Then there's mod support, which is also arriving partially done and in beta.

All of this for a 5 month old game that was supposed to be finished on release, not early access, with mod support, not beta access. No f*'s are given by the devs. DLC I$ priority! $$$$

Give it another 6 months, wait for some DLC because with dlc, they may do a single partial fix. Like, remove a bug with dogs, but add another 10 bugs to replace it. LMAO

The game is playable in my opinion. It has several flaws (which I complained), yes, but those do not hinder playing the game. In fact, if you activate the devmode; you get several features built-in, which had been otherwise supplied by the mods in CS-1. Are these perfect? No, they're not, but you can play the game all right. If you're a fan of mods; you can already play with mods by using either Thunderstore, or R2ModMan Mod Management sites, where you will find (as of yesterday) 225 mods. Also, PDX will be launching its mod site on 25th.

If the above are not enough; then don't play.

It's "playable" if you're looking for a city painter. The simulation itself is almost not existent.

I almost bought it when it released, but I am glad I waited. I play these games for the simulation and some challenge with budgeting. I ended up getting sim city 4 and modding it. I wish a new game would come out like that. CS1 was alright as well, but it also took away some of the challenges and then this game seems even worse to a point where your not even playing a game, and just painting. Pointless.

only played it on gamepass, but I HIGHLY recommend NOT to buy the game (yet)

TL;DR: CS2 to me is without a doubt one of the biggest scam releases ever.

It's been almost 6 months and the game is in a far worse state than most early access titles

Simulation is 100% fake, nothing makes sense (build 100 schools for 5000 citizens and its not enough), there literally was not one single update in the last months (afaik paradox even said no patches until dlcs). Not speaking about the non-existent performance optimizations, if you like stutters, lags and bad performance CS2 is the way to go

I mean, CS wasn't the masterpiece it is now upon release.. but at least there was a workshop and mods fixing most of the issues. Even that's not possible at the moment

The "game" is one of the biggest jokes ever - but not a funny one

No, waiting until late 2024 this will be playable. CS2 will support MOD in 25 March 2024, just wailt with patience don't wast your money for beta games.
I will play CS2 in winter 2024 for training small city, in late 2025 I will play CS2 this game will be perfect in winter 2025 with new PC 5080 Ti. Because in 2025 many MOD already, forget about Steam workshop when Paradox MOD available, because Paradox will filter all MOD, we just download without crash.

The best way to put it. I only like it for the decorative aspect, same with Cities Skylines 1. But in terms of Simulation, it's dogwater.
If you have the money to 'waste' then get it. It's worth the fifty bucks to really know what a badly written game is. If you'd miss the fifty bucks, wait.

There was no patches since end of october you can see patchnotes, so no it is not. This game is dead.
