An error occured: Game crash

This issue started to occur after building my cities on paused. Once I start the simulation time/speed, the game crashes to windows desktop. When I start the game again and load my city, the game crashes seconds into game (only able to continue on pause simulation).

I tried rectifying the issue by ensuring my GPU and windows are updated, and run the game on administrator. After doing so, I could not even launch the game as the paradox launcher app showed a prompt:

"The game appears to have crashed or terminated unexpectedly (exit code null). This issue may be solved by verifying the integrity of your game files and deactivating any mods. If you are using Windows, you may also need to install Visual C++ Redistributable and .NET Framework."

I verified the game via steam, did not activated or have any mods, already installed Visual C++ and .NET Framework. I even uninstall and reinstall Cities Skylines 2. But to no avail...

Any suggestions?

Btw, my gear: 4070ti, 32GB RAM, 7800x3d.

The game is crashing to more players and so far there is nothing reasonable you can do about it. Community members tried to reinstall everything, update drivers, start new city and without mods. Nothing helped. Here you have one of many bug reports on this topic

Only solution is to downgrade to previous version of the game (1.0.18.f1). This seems to help, you can google the guide for this. But I cannot recommend it, as I did not tried it, as it can brake saves, mods can stop working and who knows what else.

Has this been fixed? Is there a patch somewhere?

I bought this mid 2024 and managed to play for a few hours and then after a few weeks stopped working. I stumbled upon this months ago, but assumed I had to wait. It is now January 2025, and the issue is still occuring. I have re-installed everything the whole bonanza several times over. I paid alot of money and played only half a game.

I honestly hate paradox. They suck.
