Maybe there is a cycle that every 10 years the "Simcity" genre fails and reborn via other devs taking the crown.
When people have a monopoly, well you see what happens.. its the old 'when we throw you a bone we dont want to hear if it tastes good' attitude,
No city management tools, but I am a rail enthusiast, and the game blows either CS in this department, so no complaints there.
Pathfinding mechanics are similar and a sequel TpF 3 is likely in the works by now. Adding some basic city management tools should not be that hard, though they are likely going to focus in improving the transportation aspect instead - but who knows, with CS2's negative reviews nearing SC13's in mediocrity.
Nothing is set in the business world so developers would do well for themselves to improve the current game fast.
Good decision in your part. CS2 is the lesser of two evils.
Yea CS2 will at least (hopefully) be a much better game as they continue to work on it. If SC5 was on sale for cheap I would have snagged it up. I dont wanna pay more than a few bucks for it anyway considering how old it is. I read some people got the complete edition for like $5.
So today we should expect the announcement of Simcity 6 ? haha
SimCity 3000k and SimCity 4 are still the best pure city builders of all time. Cs1/2 can't come close. Not even in the same league
Great games for the time, and still enjoyable to play, but... They do have issues now, such as outdated UI - finding a specific mod if you are using hundreds of plugins is a pain - not to mention not being fully 3D, and significantly less customizable via mods than CS1.
The gameplay itself is not even that different from either CS... All such games are all about plopping service buildings in areas that require them. At least CS has true traffic flow and proper public transit that you can control at will.
I would love a transport fever 3.
I would love a 2024 version of SC4. Simcity 4 with CS2s graphics would be perfect
Cs1 was overrated
