Doesn’t seem as hard to do as they are making it out to be. I think it’s time we pull together some passionate people, some great devs, and make a great new city sim. Early access it, build it with a great community, and put out an ultimate second version in ten years. Then quit before we screw it up like everyone else has.

That's a great idea. I am not a developer, but would sign up for helping with writing\localization\etc...
But you don’t get nice looking waves or cliffs like other games have had for decades. The natural environments in CS have always been very basic and dull.
If someone could gamify the UE5 CityBLD plugin that’s in development, it would be game over for CO I’m pretty sure. Not an easy thing to do and it would be a very different game, but still. CS1/2 is just one interpretation of what a city builder should be. There’s always scope for different interpretations.
