I want better flexibly with the Day/Night Cycle
I'm not a big fan of the day and night cycle in the game because, during the night, it gets too dark to modify my city without straining my eyes. Although there is a button to turn off the day and night cycle, the game becomes too dull without any raytracing. I would like to freeze the game at dusk, noon, or evening so that I can enjoy the graphics while playing. Or, if there is a way to make the night times less dark, especially when my city is covered in buildings and street lights. I would expect to see some light pollution in the city at night, especially as my city grows.

You can click that button during game play. It really isn't that hard. Just hit "Escape", "Options" or "Settings", (can't remember, it may be a gear icon) and I believe it's under the "Graphics" tab.

The problem is, turning off this cycle completely makes it "forever day" and also ruins solar power mechanics (yielding it pretty much useless)...

I do want to enjoy the night time, I just don't think we have to be completely blind during the night.

I've flown a lot, including during the "night time" and the visibility from "up there" is not like it is in the game...

I don’t understand because it can be turned off and on during game play for any reason at any time, as often as you want to.

There is a reason why this happens.

The night has 2 parts, one part it is when there is the moon in the sky > in this phase the night is blue and bright, you can see and play fine.

The second part is when the moon disappear > the game becomes pitch black and you can't see anything.

This will be easy moddable when they will release the climate editor, so you can make nights having entire moon cycles and be all like the first part mentioned above.

Okay. I get it now. Since I'm always working in it right now, I keep it day light. So the two part wasn't what I was understanding. I don't like the clouds when working in it either.
