How to install mods manually
How do I install mods through files? I already have BepinEx, although I am not sure if I got it correctly.

Save yourself headaches.... Thunderstore.io has a mod overlay. Pick your mods, it does the installing. Been using a couple weeks, pretty solid. It also manages updates for the mods.
