Harbor Truck Jam
I have a major backup of traffic at my harbor, as truck traffic is only really going in and out one way at the harbor, creating a huge backup of trucks and traffic jams. I have a Bus Depot right next to the Harbor, that I am going to relocate, but I still see an issue with trucks backing up the streets. Suggestions, or is this a game issue needing correction?

move the harbor a bit backwards towards sea and make a "one way" 2 or 3 lane road to building. and add a roundabout to that junction, remove traffic lights and crosswalks from roundabout.

should solve issue , at least it ll make better than now. also never ever put any buildings' gates towards main artery roads. including RCI. i also suggest moving bus depot out of city, far away from industrial heavy traffic too.

I've tried multiple different 3 way streets to this now, with the Bus Depot moved, roundabouts. The problem remains, causing massive backups, as they only want to go in and out one of the entrances and use one street.

have you also tried increasing size of that southeast road which connects to harbor, because 3 lanes coming from northeast + 2 lanes coming from northwest, total 5 but harbor road is 2 lanes,

have you tried turning 5lane asymetrical road other way, or you could try putting 6 or 8 lanes 2way road there

(note : all my suggestion based on current screenshot, tiny part of a city, problem might be bigger in general, including transportation lines. im not really on wild goose chase atm)

This problem is due to load unload speed at harbor so that cannot be solve

Have you left it running for a while? Last patch changed lots of things about exports so it could temporarily increase traffic by a lot, but people have reported that it eventually evens out.

Same issue. The problem is, that at the enterance to the harbor (all three), slowing the trucks down. Also they dont using the lanes in the back side of the harbor. All trucks trying to drive into the first lanes, and also thats causing a traffic jam inside the harbour. But the main issue is the enterance point where they slowing down. Now i have traffic jams because of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

In from both ends of the harbour, out from the middle. That gives you 2 loops to split the traffic.

Same issue with the bus station, they slow down so much when entering the station. These assets should have internal roads that we can connect to, so trucks and busses don't have to slow down for a 90° turn. Probably the same for airports and train stations. And when there's parking, cars should not use the same entrance and exit as the busses. Tbh the assets seem a bit sloppy and not that well thought out, but I need to use them more to figure them out better.

Clearly a simulation of the M20 and the port of Dover.

For me the solution now is deleting all cargo terminals. Even when it works, it exports goods, which not exist. Making it's stock negative. And importing thousands of tons of electronics. Deleting them will decrease profitability, but no traffic jams. Until they fix latest fixes.. )

its the new patch. read the patch description when you get a chance. Had the same issue once the patch was installed. Like in CS1 I created a long enough road for trucks to the terminal.

trucks are accelarating way to slow. all cars in fact. it is a pain

Yeah new patch caused this issue. I have created roadways that give all 3 entrances access, and occasionally they use both roadways leading to them, however they for some reason stop that, and all jam up on one side.

I came eup with a solution. The 4 lane road is raised. My trash Incinerator is off screen to right. MY city is primarily to the left. Another circle is just off screen to left as well. Separate off ramps for each of the 3 entrances to the harbor. Seem st o be working.
