high resource costs - no industry demand
Hey chaps,

in my city of 100k people I am facing the new issue that there is no demand for industry and my commercial building are complaining the high resource costs.
So I stuffed up my cargo and tried to import as much as possible without success.
Tax isn't doing anything of course and without demand for indsutry I cannot produce.
Basic resources are in surplus except a bit of Oil.

However, most of the commercial that are complaining are lacking in vehicles... I have build the industry "vehicle factory" in my city as well.. It is working, but the demand/complain stucks...

Long story short - do you have any solution?

Cheers

High resourse cost come from lack of specialized industry materials. If they are lumber mill and have high cost then wood is needed ext for each type of specialized industry.

Thanks OpN!
I know and I am lacking in demand for Industry to build vehicles obviously.
Atm I am trying to find a way around with and without mods, but it does not comes to a solution ...

How are your education levels? If you don't have any/many uneducated or low educated, industry demand will be low. Try making an area of low density housing that cannot easily access your schools. Elementary ok but not high school or beyond. That might add demand for Industry. Remember, nothing happens quickly in the city, and you'll need to give time for that to settle in etc. Also are you making use of the resources on the map? Coal, Ore, agriculture?

7,4 % uneducated
26,1 % poorly
30,8 educated
12,6 well
23 high

balanced demand for education in my city.

I have build some low density areas with only elementary now.
Maybe this could do the trick...

The limitations to specialized industry base on map is very annoying. There shouldn't be sections of the map dedicated to these resources. You should just have to build the building and snap the area and then it produces. I really don't like how they implemented the resources. Like sometimes there's a random island with a small patch of fertil land and you have to buy squares just to build a tiny farm just to reduce cost ever so slightly. Forcing people to build in areas they may not want to build. That's just my take on the new specialized industry

I agree with your statement OpN... I guess the community will do a better job - as usual ^^

It seems this solved my issue. I have build my biggest area of low density on the map and all issues are gone now. :) Thanks!
