The number of current players on Cities: Skylines I has surpassed those on Cities: Skylines II !

I know the game has problems, but I'm still surprised to be honest...

Yeap, it's good to compare an 8 year old game with 10000's of mods/assets to a game recently released....

Yeap totally fine!

Fan boys will be in to tell you how those numbers somehow don't matter.

They don't if you know how to read steam charts.
Cities 1 24 hour peak 15k
Cities 2 24 hour peak 16k

Isn't it funny seeing cities 1 trend going from 28k to 18k ?
Ah yes, a brand new game has 1/10th of it's player base after a month. Must be a great game. Let me check those game reviews.
The length fanboys will go to just to defend this broken game is laughable at best. Marvels Avengers and Anthem must be your favorite games.

The fact your argument is lmao player numbers is extremely weak.
Literally most games lose their player base after release and settle down to proper look at cities 1 release literally lost like 20k people in a month.
Read the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ charts bro.
Really look at BG3... Tell me how good games lose a 10th of there player base after a month.

You keep saying "read the chart" if it was a stock it would be rated as a -2 hard sell but what do I know about charts....

CS1 exist on multiple platforms. Steam charts only show steam users. So we're missing out on epic games, website purchases (non steam) dara.
But to answer your question CS1 was terrible upon release. Epic literally gave the base game away for free.

The DLCs that people spent hundreds on along with the steam workshop is what gave CS1 new life.

It took years for CS1 to become popular. However, when it comes to CS2 many things are a step backwards and you would think the Devs would have learned something in 8 years but they have shown they havent while taking away features that even existed in CS1 vanilla

yeah! imagine having 8 years of data and completely ignoring it when building v2 of the same game. What can possibly go wrong?.

Edit: The sad part is they were probably totally aware of this and told themselves "if they mod it once they'll mod it twice, and will cost us 0$".

Welp, I guess we will come back to this discussion in 8 years.

I was one that went back to CS1, and also waiting for mods/Asset pack as of now its just too bland.

They're in a bit of a bind. Historically Cities in Motion 1/2 (their first product) was great and they didn't try to step too hard on SimCity. It was a traffic simulation based on pre-existing maps, you figured out the transport. Personally I'd played the original Maxis SimCity back in the late 90s but by this point was looking for something a bit different, SimCity 5 was good but Cities In Motion (CIM) also ticked the boxes.
Next logical step was City Skylines 1, they killed it, Maxis SimCity had pretty much the same bad reviews as CS2 to be honest.
The problem here is once you perfect a genre, releasing a new version of it is nearly impossible, this is a problem kind of unique to them only. They'll survive for sure, but 100% focus has to be mods at this point. Content later.

https://steamcharts.com/ Here's a link for Steam Charts. Cities Skyline 2 has been sitting in the 80's and 90's spot.

Today's spot is 84

And you're just moving the goal posts around to forfill your weak argument.
This game is flawed and needs lots of and shouldn't of released but going small number bad big number good is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke.
Cities 2 currently has the higher player count so what's the point of this? Have you neaten the dear horse of lmao bad game your only argument is lmao lower number?
Stop actually wasting time and acting like ♥♥♥♥ wit doomer paradox isn't going to let cities 2 fall off cause paradox knows they can milk it.
Also thanks for the 800 steam points I'll buy a new emoji for you.
Moving goal post? Really? No one said small number bad big number good. You're just making stuff up for fun? Why lie about what I'm saying. The game is currently in a failed state and the player base is proving it. You sound exactly like the fan boys on marvels Avengers claiming a single player game can never die..... Studio shut the game down less then a year later.

You asked if CS1 was bad at launch. The answer was yes. It doesn't mean it didn't get better. Just like it doesn't mean CS2 can't get better..... literally 99% of the people on these forums hope the game does get better. That's not an excuse for having the predecessor have one of the worst launch and optimization issues since CB2077 debacle. Company can easily turn the ship around like CB2077. However the devs have lied and the game is unplayable in mid to late game for 90% of the user base. Its amazing you feel the need to defend this garbage but you do you bud.

PS I didn't give you the badges. Didn't think you were acting like a clown until your latest post but thanks for making yet another false accusation.

Read the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ charts bro.

Yep, CS1 lost literally 20k player in a month. But CS2 "literally"lost 90k players in a month.
While CS1 lost around 50% players one month after release, CS2 lost nearly 90%.
Im just quoting yourself: "Read the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ charts bro".
