Yeap totally fine!
The length fanboys will go to just to defend this broken game is laughable at best. Marvels Avengers and Anthem must be your favorite games.
You keep saying "read the chart" if it was a stock it would be rated as a -2 hard sell but what do I know about charts....
But to answer your question CS1 was terrible upon release. Epic literally gave the base game away for free.
The DLCs that people spent hundreds on along with the steam workshop is what gave CS1 new life.
It took years for CS1 to become popular. However, when it comes to CS2 many things are a step backwards and you would think the Devs would have learned something in 8 years but they have shown they havent while taking away features that even existed in CS1 vanilla
yeah! imagine having 8 years of data and completely ignoring it when building v2 of the same game. What can possibly go wrong?.
Edit: The sad part is they were probably totally aware of this and told themselves "if they mod it once they'll mod it twice, and will cost us 0$".
Welp, I guess we will come back to this discussion in 8 years.
I was one that went back to CS1, and also waiting for mods/Asset pack as of now its just too bland.
Next logical step was City Skylines 1, they killed it, Maxis SimCity had pretty much the same bad reviews as CS2 to be honest.
The problem here is once you perfect a genre, releasing a new version of it is nearly impossible, this is a problem kind of unique to them only. They'll survive for sure, but 100% focus has to be mods at this point. Content later.

You asked if CS1 was bad at launch. The answer was yes. It doesn't mean it didn't get better. Just like it doesn't mean CS2 can't get better..... literally 99% of the people on these forums hope the game does get better. That's not an excuse for having the predecessor have one of the worst launch and optimization issues since CB2077 debacle. Company can easily turn the ship around like CB2077. However the devs have lied and the game is unplayable in mid to late game for 90% of the user base. Its amazing you feel the need to defend this garbage but you do you bud.
PS I didn't give you the badges. Didn't think you were acting like a clown until your latest post but thanks for making yet another false accusation.
You probably should have just left it at that.
It's the path of Payday3...
Yep, CS1 lost literally 20k player in a month. But CS2 "literally"lost 90k players in a month.
While CS1 lost around 50% players one month after release, CS2 lost nearly 90%.
Im just quoting yourself: "Read the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ charts bro".
