Littered with Dead Bodies! Always!
I'm not sure why but my city is always littered with dead bodies, so many that I changed the name.

Its not that there isn't enough Hearses, or traffic, or Happiness as you can see by the lower right pop up and the hearses spread out around the city.

I think even the hearse drivers die before picking up their first corpse.

Hahahaha I agree

They can die in fires and car accidents and the list goes on I had 32 people die in a building fire. I am like why didn’t they use the fire escapes lol

I have this same issue as well, as my city grew, it only gets worse. I am at 260,000 cims, and i have 55 grade schools, but only 3 high schools. this game is extremely messed up. We shouldn't have to have more than 2-3 mortuary's per 50,000 people. My home town has 75,000 people, and only 5 grade schools and one high school. I thought this game was supposed to be the most life like. The city requires too many services of everything.

Agreed, and at 750K the need seems to have gone up exponentially in my wasted life city.

Most likely it's a bug... no.. Definitely a bug, it needs to be fixed.

The dead bodies issue is similar to trash. You need to zone, then limit crematorium to one or two zones. Like CS1, a hearse will drive across the city, past 3 more crematoria to pick up a body. Closest doesnt matter. If you zone, and limit them to it, solves the problem.

it's a deep message from the developers about the state of the game or something.
From the very beginning, someone reported on the forum that he was having waves of death. thousands of people die at the same moment so yes, this game has a big problem with students and death. The age balance of the society in the game is tragic

Maybe it is too far for hearses to ride? Have you observe some examples? If corpse appears, in that building it is written weather hearse dispatched or no. They may disappear in traffic, or other things. If you trace a hearse you can find out the reason. Some times I have fires in high rises. At once there are like 200 dead. And hearses from all the city are going there neglecting other cases. And as far as 200 hearses going to one building, there are traffic jams. And hearses some times just disappear, as CO fights with traffic here. But as they get those 200, they quickly get all others. Also attaching hearses to discticts may be a solution.

Did you zoom in on the screenshot I posted?

The incinerators and Cemeteries are all right next to bodies that go untouched for days.

Do not apply logic to this game, the devs did not program anything in any way a logical person like you would apply it.

It makes me wonder if they did any research on how cities run. Just look at the number of transit vehicles that can be dispatched from any depot and then go look at your nearest bus or train yard in your own city.

Everything is out of whack not just Hearses.

Yes, that is a bug, not realistic.

I have followed many of them as well as all the other stupid service vehicles. they all work the same way except garbage now.

And just like garbage needs to be fixed the same way.

it is not a bug, you just have to understand how the crematoriums work in the game. the worker pool is shared between drivers and operators, if you have a high body count in storage or they anticipate a high body count coming in, they will not send out as many hearses because they need more workers inside to cook bodies.
in short, you want to have around a 2x or even 3x surplus of body handling capacity vs death rate.
you may want to increase it even further if you want to minimize the amount of hospitals and fire services. or if you have very poor traffic management.

I have additionally noticed that if you reduce the operating budget to 50%, they seemingly wont send out any hearses at all.
I'm not 100% sure but i think this has to do with time of day, the employees just dont give a f at night if they are getting paid nothing. I dont advise ever lowering your budget under 100%

I just have one question as I don't want to disagree with any of your thoughtful points.

Up to what size city have you tested your theories?

Have you tried following certaing crematoriums, certain hearses and certain corpses? To state that all that is biased? I can offer trying to do that if you share your save. Because there are cities with 700k people. And they are without that problem.

70k because after that the game runs like potatoes, but the size should not affect it too much since you should split cities up by district anyway and you can assign deathcare to its own operating districts and balance each one as it's own.

damn, my favorite answer to every problem in this game. You just don't understand it, that's all.
how do you know if it works as you described? even if you have right. why design the game in such a way where you need 2-3 times more power to make it work? it does not make sense
After all, his death rate, creamatorium and cemetery capabilities should be able to handle it. But over 4k deaths per month? that's about +130 per day. and city crematorium itself has 6k per month of power.
I don't like the argument "in real life", but I will use it here to simply show how absurd these numbers are in the game
his city does as much in a month as my real 500k city does in a year
