This game seems to be completely anti-small town!
This game seems to be completely anti-small town. It seems like you have to build build build, go go go, as if your life was at stake. I prefer to start at a slow pace and build small towns around the map, to then unite all the small towns with a larger city in the center.

The primary school is a good example of this, as 1,000 school desks, where the majority is not used, become completely unnecessary and actually silly to have in a small town. And no, you can't reduce the number of school desks WITHOUT reducing the chance of children leaving school at all with a diploma. As I said, you are PUSHED to build.

This game needs a small town update with services that fit small towns--added to the long list of fundamental problems this game is plagued with.

Generally agree that we need smaller assets and a small town pack is a great DLC idea!
But you could build a small town with a school and then have villages without schools but good public transport. Not every small village will have it's own tiny school irl

Couldn't agree more. It's all about expanding now.

This game is the complete opposite of Human life. Can't get to work without asphalt roads. If only there were another way to get from Point A to Point B without a vehicle? Almost like a bike or using two limbs to maneuver to where you need to be.

Industry is also not 100% required within your region, why the f- is that a standard requirement? Point to me where in New York city there's factories. That land value is several dozen times bigger than cities skylines 2 map sizes.

From my point of view, the game is also anti-large town :steammocking::steamsalty:

Let's be honest and stop calling it a game :) it's a Photoshop for making city-like pictures.

You bought a game that is missing 90% of what was in the last game... What did you expect?

I disagree. This games totally SMALL TOWNS FRIENDLY. You simply spread out and build towns everywhere. Large city is the problem. Try 1 mil population. You'll find out it's as hot as a heater and slo as slug.

That's a good thing! This game *should* be anti-small town....

Cities Skylines devs are right to show that small towns cause major social and environmental issues, and to push players towards building sustainable, equitable cities for a better global future. After all, teenagers playing this game today could be tomorrow's city planners -- they shouldn't be learning outdated city planning values! In the future, all people should be living in mega-cities.

This game only wants medium towns.

You need connections to the outside world. If you are working inside the first cell then no Schools, Colleges, and Universities won't fill up. Think about it Students will use public transport to get to where they want to be educated. Think on a larger scale instead of trying to sprawl a city in one cell.

Connect buses, trains, trams, ships and yes even planes.

I hit lvl 5 and Im starting to rake in the dough. And, by that time I have most of the major stuff. Including a college. Not a Uni, but it isnt really necessary unless you're going for metropolis. In my latest little town I have a pop under 10k, Iv bought 3 extra tiles outside the main square. Its running awesome, and getting beautified atm. All of the demand is high, but it doesnt mean you Have to expand. Keep an eye on how many job openings you have, and keep it at about 100 openings. Then just let the game run while you plant trees and just general beauty ideas.
I always picture this game as a diorama, model. More than some city simulation....lol

I agree completely. Its is like the game pushed higher density. The sustainability meters are stupid. I built an industrial port just to not be able to use it be cause it has no industrial sustainability. AT THE PORT!!! The logic is baffling at times. I have a whole map where low density residential has zero sustainability. The whole real estate economy is a failure IMO. Too many abandonment situations or building collapses happening in a bustling city. Real estate.
