Un-playable
I have a brand new Core I5-12400 with 16gb ram and a GTX3050 with *gb ram and this game is un-playable due to stutter. I also have most of my settings down to low. is there something I can do? Im annoyed as this was not a cheap game.

It’s your GPU.

set resolution to 1920 or 2400 on a long side.
disable depth of field and other few items that have an option to "disable"
try to use vsync. it helped some people but not all

Try not to zoom in and out in game too often or too quickly. I noticed this was the main cause of crashes in my case. The game doesn't like the moment when it switches between high level view and the view with cars and citizens.

No, the game is unfinished and if you are still within the refund window you should take advantage while you can.

CO has announced not to expect rapid patches/fixes going forward. If you can still refund and choose not to, you're gambling your $50 that this won't get abandoned in one fashion or another like a number of recent PDX games. Conversely if you refund and they do eventually manage to finish the game at some point, you'll be able to re-buy at a discount.

It's not in the best state but your blaming the game for Nvidia's deficiencies.

Well this is false information. Thanks for spreading it

I have an old I7 and a GTX 2060. Play at 1080, high detail but LOD disablesd. Set frame rate to 30 vsync off. So far upto 40k no real slow down and no stutters or crashes. AA needs to be custom TMAA (?) or something like that.
Check your drivers and antivirus. GEForce experience is a good start but I found a little playing around I could do better.

If you follow the guides people will say to turn off everything that makes the game look better than Skylines 1. In fact the game looks terrible with all modern settings off and lower than your screens native resolution.

At that point you are better off just refunding and bying Skylines 1 for your citybuilding fix

Looks better maxed out, no bugs anymore, tons of content, difficulty settings, mods galore.

You can always buy this later again when there is a huuuuuge sale and everything is patched. The developers said that fixing performance and bugs is a very loooooong road ahead and we should not expect a lot right now. So there is that.

It's not false information. I have access to a Ryzen 9 5950X, Ryzen 7 2700X, i9-10900K, i9-11900K and a i3-10100. On the GPU front I have a GTX 1660 Super, GTX 1660 Ti, RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, Arc A770 16GB, RX 6900 XT and a RX 6950 XT.

In the GPU end the RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti cards perform the worst of the higher end cards. I think it is purely because they only have 8GB of vram. The Arc A770 16GB handles the graphics smoother at the same exact settings. I know in situations where the game doesn't need more then 8GB of vram the RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti will generally outperform the Arc A770 16GB. However as it's drivers have been updated the performance gap has been closing.

You might not want to hear it but that is the truth.

It's the game, stop trolling

Listen, OP, this game on default settings had 5 FPS in the main menu in the first boot because it was rendering a background made of a live city of about 100k population with those settings that caused so much problems on High by default such as LOD and DOF

So what about on Radeon cards, how does it run on them? :))

I have a 7700x with 32GB DDR5 and an old 1080ti from 2016 and I get 30-40fps on med with over 100K pop. Likely due to the 11+GB of VRAM.

How is it his GPU? I have a 4090 and it plays everygame i own in max 4k settings above 100fps. this game its like 30 maybe less? like the programing is bad or something i have 64gb of ram and a 13900 as well. so theres no reason for my machine to slow down i feel like its the game all the way. i still play but oh well.
LittleKatGC Nov 15, 2023 @ 8:37am
Thats weird because i have a 1090 and it does just fine on medium settings (yes it still looks better than 1) even in higher pops. no crashes nothing game breaking i am really not understanding why people with higher end computers are having such a hard time.

Do you have a 4K screen?

Because without native resolution it looks horrendous and super blurry on such monitors and there is no DLSS to fix this at the moment.

skill issue, I am rocking the i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz and a 1660 super and I play just fine
