No, it’s not. It’s just not well designed and/or the suits forced them to release too early.

It won't nuke your CPU because they actively throttle it to avoid that.

Yes, this a next gen game that is fully using 8-core CPUs. Previous gen has been stuck on 4-core CPUs since 2009 or so. Mainstream 8-core CPUs have been around several years. They released a couple years after DDR4/PCI4.0 in 2015. But they are just now making it to consoles (PS5, XBOX, and others)

But, what do you mean by a PC destroyer? If you are having overheating or crashing issues. then you need to address these issues.

Your i9-11900K processor is a full 8-core CPU, same as console, so it exceed console performance.

meaning, will it run like crap, sub 60 fps. i remember when cities XL came out and i had a top end machine then, and after a few hours the game would just chug ass.

do you seriously need 60fps in a city builder?
it is noticeable when the game runs at 30fps vs 60 but it just doesnt matter.

I will say that this game did cause my GPU and ultimately my whole PC to completely hard crash. Had serious issues with my hardware afterwards. RAM Stick went out, MB started having issues. None of these were problems before trying to play CS 2. Just keep that in mind, I won't be trying it again till I see some serious patching.
Mack Nov 21, 2023 @ 8:04pm
Yes, and it sucks anyway.

Just play the original.
My pc did a hard crash for the first time while playing CS2. I had to clear my bios and redo everything.

They're a team of like 13 people and I'm pretty sure one of them is secretly Yanderedev.

Nah it is just very shoddy coding and asset creation.

Try again in 5 months, then it should be more playable while they are redoing most of the stuff

Honestly. I really don't know why people are complaining about. Game runs fine for me and is hella fun. Put hundreds of hours in the first game, but don't foresee me ever going back to CS1. Once you take the time and learn the mechanics and simulation of the game, CS2 is hella fun. I am constantly discovering new mechanics that I didn't eve know where in the game. I think the game is worth the buy, but that's just me. The game isn't perfect and will only get better with time, but the core gameplay and content renders hours of creativity and fun. Go to Youtube and checkout some the cities people have build already. The selling point for CS2 over CS1 is the more realistic scale and look to the game. I couldn't force myself to play CS1 again if I tried merely just because of the graphical differences.

I have roughly the same specs.
3080ti
24GB or RAM
Ryzen 9
4 TB SDD. I am getting a smooth, consistent 60 frames.

If you really want to know how a game functions, play and try it for yourself. Nobody else's opinion will outweigh personal experience.

If you wanna try the game out for low risk, but Xbox Game Pass for $5 to try CS2 if you don't like it, you can cancel game pass or if you like it, just buy the game.

no you do not need to upgrade, i would wait for them to patch the base game, wait for a year for a fully optimised game and if its not sorted by then, dont bother.

most people have a good experience until your population is around 100k or less and thats when things go down hill, that and glitches, glitches even at the highest setting, to sort the performance and glitch issues, i have to go and disable everything lmao, this isnt a workaround, this is flopping bad just trying to get any sort of stable fps.

The more you build the more it has to simulate and the slower it will run. Like every simulation game.

But you should wait until at least the first real patch adresses the issues it has right now. So far we only have seen a few hotfixes.

well the patches have helped, for me at least, a little bit.

before i could only build up to a 21K city, now i can go above 30/40K population and thats when i get serious issues. sadly.

''Clear'' your BIOS and ''redo'' everything? That is the most ''I-♥♥♥♥♥♥-my-PC-myself-but-lemme-blame-a-game''-explanation I have ever seen lol.
