No they will continue to grow. You can turn the growth cycle off with the controller though and the trees will remain the way you plant them. You can also choose to plant trees of different ages at the same time. This works, Your trees will still die, but not all at the same time. It looks more natural. One thing I did find out the hard way is if you are using Anarchy to plant dense forest or plant trees in places you normally can't and leave the tree life cycle on once the tree dies it won't grow back if it's in a location where there is a conflict with other trees or objects. I spent a lot of time detailing a neighbourhood with tree line streets with oak trees that looked great, but they all disappeared when they died and didn't grow back.
All the Large trees I planted are now small, and diff types of trees have replaced them, theres no point in creating custom landscaped parks and areas if the game refreshes everything youve added with crap.
Trees in the game have a life cycle and when an old mature tree dies it stays dead for some time and then is replaced with a new sapling. This will continue forever in your game unless you use the tree controller mod and set the setting that prevents trees from changing or dying.
