The simple radio mast is cheap and small, but only provides 3tbps over a circle with 1km radius. Enough, I find for low-medium density, especially if you overlap them over higher density areas. Bandwidth upgradable to 4.5tbps which, I find, is enough to tide you over when slowly building up density.
The server farm provides 20tbps over 2.5km. Good for higher density areas.
The telecom tower, I actually haven't found a good use for. It provides less bandwidth than the server farm (15tbps) but over a much wider area of 5km. And it's expensive, almost double the upkeep of the server farm and 20 times the upkeep of the radio mast. Maybe if you've built very wide? But then I'd just use lots of radio towers.
