Cities: Skylines II

View Stats:
Crowds of Traffic / People totally uncrealistic
I am currently building my third city.
First was ~50.000
Second ~ 30.000
Third ~18.000
Every city suffers the same problem: Crowds of Traffic and People.
My current cities has tons of 6/7/8 lane Roads, already running Bus and Tram Lines and multiple highway ramps to distribute the traffic.
If i take a closer look to the streets there are tons of people walking around, crossing the streets and blocking traffic. on all bigger intersections i already placed ped bridges but it still feels like i'm in the middle of Tokio or New York and not in my little <20.000 people town.

This is so frustrating..

For the traffic: It seems a lot of traffic is caused by people looking for parking spots. They tend to drive around in sometimes weird patterns (turning around right after a crossing)
Follow one or two cars and see what they are doing. It might help to build some parking spots.
@Paradox: would be nice to have an indication for a shortage of parking spots

Space. Spread things out a bit so they not congested all in one place.

The initial dripfeed of available squares might make you feel you don't have enough, but the more you progress the more you'd have squares you wouldn't use.

Traffic is an problem, Colossal Order couldn´t fix since the times of Cities in Motion and they didn´t fix it till yet. There are a lot of bug in the traffic system, like cars trying to park on an already taken parking space and hanging there for hours till you find them an click on them, but in an 50k town, this could cause an traffic jam through your whole city, or buses stoping traffic, while they trying to spread on the route. This are just a few bug i found.

it only shows the parking spots built, not the spots availble on the road sides or inside the buildings. This overview does not help for the problem... its merely a very rough indicator.
A heatmap would be nice, to see where people struggle to find a parking spot (and end up circling around the city, creating traffic)

Not sure how performant it would be, but they might consider using "Average distance from home/work to parking spot" to generate a parking spot heatmap. They'd have to baseline things to figure out the best points to shift colors, so I'd imagine the feature would take a bit of time to iron out.
