Report a translation problem
- make a city highway circuit
- make smooth connection like two 2 lane roard to one 4 lane
- you need more connections to the highway in every area, especially industry and commerce
- do not directly connect an industrial area with a residential area.
- use roundabouts
- each jam significantly reduces the speed of the simulation
- if you have an area near the border of the map, make more exits from the map
- do not place parking building on main street
Also, design helps a lot. Try and have a pass through route and increase lanes on busy areas. Having more than one route in and out is also good planning, especially try to have a different route for trucks into your industry areas
I've tried everything you guys mentioned but something's not right. The traffic ai keeps merging them and they keep ALL wanting to go right lane to end up on the high way again on the other side.
I'll have to send this in as a bug report and also if you hit the transportation button you see the same cars and taxi's bounce left and right to each HIGHWAY out and in. It's weird.
Maybe some road isn't connected properly somewhere? Or maybe you accidentally put a one way road somewhere? Follow the route the cars should take to see if something got messed up
Whew, finally resolved.
Answer:
I added another Huge 5 lane High Way to the guys who keep wanting to go right lane so it took 2 highways and now it's finally flowing properly. Those guys that wanted to go right finally has the room and apparently they are happy now. This was 6 hours of headache. LoL. I think the biggest mistake I made was adding everything all at once too fast and the cars spawned by the masses.
Thanks you guys. Everyones advice was right.
1. When you add buildings by the masses, be prepared for an army of cars.
2. have more routes for the RIGHT or LEFT lane freaks that refuse to go anywhere else.
3. Build slowly and monitor for changes.
Now time to move on the the next problem. Man what a game.
Glad you resolved the issue!
Sometimes it's advisable to just let the game run for a while because all the new people will eventually have settled in and traffic will calm down a bit
