It's the same as creating a bus line for instance, except here create a line with only two stops. The first is the rail terminal, the second is any of the rail exit points at the edge of the map.
Yeah I'd found that after many hours of gameplay, tired attaching a station to an existing line on the map, nothing stopped, then noticed on the edge of the map the connectors..
Same with Plane and sea...
It seems this is not so with road export
EDIT: Turned off the harbor and back on, seems to be working now.
No, just find any existing train exit from the map. You only need to buy the tiles if you want to create a new exit.
Might not be much yet, but this cargo train (mine) is exporting a little bit of steel.
(P.S. off subject, if someone could please explain to me how to post a picture that actually shows as a picture here in comments, please tell. (Blush))
It means that there isn't necessarily anything to export and / or your routes are too expensive for the companies. Amount of goods created is a lot less and more balanced than in C:S1.
And yes, the cargo station is just in the middle of the industrial area and has 4 routes leading to all neighboring towns, importing all kind of stuff that I already produce in masses/surplus too.
