Cargo Harbour /Train Cargo - NO EXPORT!
If you try to export produced goods of your city - first of all: It´s not working yet!

I´ve tried it on several maps, cargo harbor and train harbor - Ships and trains ONLY importing goods (which your city is missing) and will leave without any freight! Seems like either it´s a bug or it´s not programmed yet. So don´t waste your time doing this awesome and beautiful strategy and planning - it will only kill your budget without any income (yet).

Didn´t check for airways Cargo yet, but maybe someone of you already did and can comment. BR, Toulouse

I currently don't build cargo stations and ports just yet because of this BUT they do export via trucks so not all hope is lost and you still get your taxes ;-))

And if you want to focus your city on office towers you will get rich because they export their products online. You need good internet for that I guess.

I would check my deficits. Good chance the city is relying on the imports and there is very little if any export for that reason.

Hi Guys, thanks for your feedback.
I´ve checked the export file (Also got a snapshot of it which - it seems to me - I can´t share here with you). The Line for "Water export", which is shown in the chart is at zero. Also after 3-4 month if simulation. "Truck export" is as high as always, but water export is 0. Harbour is on work, ships are running but only importing, no export shown.

So I´m right with you, that it might be a visual bug that leaving ships don´t show any freight, but also in the statisics - no freight in export.

Harbour is full of goods (15.500t), import works, storage doesn´t get smaller. Weird.

PROXIMITY... All about that... My city exports 1000s of tons, at 40K population. but I built it all on purpose with PROXIMITY for all businesses to maximize profits for them so they decide to export, you have to play with taxes too and not just plop random industries right and left...

The game is extrememly complex, most players don't really bother with it;s depth, but i do...

Exports work. There just need to be a reason to use a train. Costs, proximity to factories, warehouse storage level etc. all affects. You won't see the money from them directly, you only get tax money from the company profits.

I´m talking about Cargo Harbour exports in this case - lowered the taxes, all of them. from 10% to 5% also to 0 and -5%. Transport budget is on 100% and still nothing. Even the material my city doesn´t need just rot at the storage. storage is full - ships import, show containers, dropp them off and leave immediately without shown containers, 0t Freight on Board.

Taxes won't do anything. They're applied *after* the business sells it's goods, not before.

First thing to check - did you build a route to an external connection?

I think the game treats the cargo terminals like giant warehouses in balanced mode from CS1. It needs to get above about 1000 of something before it'll export it.

This is pretty much what I've seen too. Although in my city storage levels in total were about 50% or above, when trains started to export. But that does correlate with "balanced" mode.

I don't understand my cargo terminals?
I have connected two terminals to the existing rail lines. I am planning one will use the line going one way, the other going the other way.

Storage is filling up slowly ( I was originally going to try and use both for forestry as they are next to forestry industry but everything is getting filled there) no trains have turned up yet

Looking at the table for both terminals the same things are bothering me.

Each has 4 vehicles in maintenance
0/16 vehicles being used
Lines 0

Something is telling me 0 lines means there are no lines connected but what about the ones from the original railway, those are connected or are they?

I cannot show a screenshot because I am playing through XBox Game Pass

You have to setup a line with a line tool, before you trains start moving between them.

Might be but if it's not explained it's wasted. So, please share your insights more detailed on how to make it work.

How do I get a line tool?

It's in the same menu where you built the station itself. On the right end of the icon list.
