one of the keys is having no intersections on your interchange, so no using normal streets that make traffic lights and all, use only highways and onramps. and make sure those onramps have a wide and smooth as possible route to keep cars moving at high speed. upgrade your highways to add an extra lane then attach your on ramps to them so that when they slow down and switch lanes to get off highway they are getting out of the way of other traffic. You can even make double lanes that go off highway in super high traffic areas. I seen one youtuber who plays thousands of hours of city skylines make this amazing triangle 3 way highway interchange that blew my mind how smooth it was with no complicated curves and on ramps and it literally doesn't have any slow down no matter how heavy traffic gets. I have to try to find the video again as I want to use it in my map.
searching youtube for "city skylines 2 interchange" will come up with many videos of various interchange idea's.
Edit: I found it but you have to pause video at exactly 9:38 to see it, he annoyingly doesn't give you a long time to look at it, lol. It's an insanely smooth 3 way interchange design that has 0 slow down at all which I am going to use in my maps.

Sorry I don't understand. I was just showing a video showing the intersection, he only just started that city so he didn't show it with traffic. But you can clearly see based on design it's an incredibly smooth intersection and having had played a lot of city skylines one and a decent amount of two, it's clear to see how little slowdown this intersection will have once you have a ton of traffic. I seriously doubt that any bottle necks would be in this intersection design and instead be bottle necked in other parts of your city.
Do you have any proof or explanation as to why this intersection wouldn't work in a big city? And do you have a better design to offer as a replacement? You only pointed out that i am wrong but offered no explanation or proof.

If you'd played lots of 2 you'd know that when the volume increases 2 lane's wont be enough but even with more the ai r too fukn stupid to use any other route other than wats closest, what is mayb 4-500m to the roundabout junction haha 40k pop mayb less that whole connection will have to re-visited time an time again,
But yes it would b a smooth design for starting out but once it gets busy forget it,
Don't put words in my mouth i never said u were wrong, Just so u understand the game an traffic ai is wrong
Why it wouldn't work.... We don't have TMPE yet, Mayb a crash or 2 then where they gonna go, Watever we can debate about it all day idgaf i've already wasted too much time
Your post is completely and utterly unacceptable. You added nothing of value to this thread and just attacked everyone calling them stupid? Why would you do this? There is nothing in this thread that justifies what you just posted. Nothing.
ok, but you still didn't provide a better solution, your saying that option won't handle more then 40k pop. but my city has much higher then 40k in skylines 2 with much less efficient interchanges that are handling it just fine. In my opinion I think this interchange could handle way more traffic then generated in a 40k pop map. Can you provide a better solution and interchange then for higher populated cities? The OP also didn't tell us how many people are in his city, or show a screenshot of his interchange so we can better understand the problem. Your immediately jumping to conclusions assuming OP is talking about a massive city with hundreds of thousands of people and saying my idea is garbage without providing your own solution.
Why do you people do this? Why not just offer your suggestions and let people and OP decide which route to go? Instead of offering your suggestion you simply attacking other people who's suggestion you didn't like. it's very disrespectful. If you provided a good explanation of why my interchange wouldn't work with examples of ones that would, this wouldn't be a problem. but your just telling me I am wrong, making assumptions about city size and traffic of OP, and not provided any feedback as to what you suggest is better instead.
Why are you also cursing at me? I didn't say anything in this thread that justifies this.
"Lol u obviously didnt (didn't) read the post stupid"
So I am stupid? Why? He said, "Yeah interchanges are easy bro. Any idiot can get a hughway interchange made. The issue comes into play when you want to make a junction from the highway to your city. Pull your head out of your bumbum." which basically is calling OP and anyone who has difficulty finding a good flow interchange stupid saying any idiot can do it. How is this acceptable language? How is this helpful for constructive in anyway. Can you explain what he said that I didn't understand?
"Another lvl 0 acc CO employee trolling"
What are yout alking about here? i am not a level 0. I created my steam account in 2005 and I haven't looked at my "level" in a while but i believe it's over 30. I do not work for CO, I am a consumer. What am I trolling about? Can you clarify?
"Get to work an fix your ♥♥♥♥"
Fix what? What do I need to fix? i am posting an interchange I like because the OP asked for a high flow interchange idea. I only posted an example simply to add my 2 cents. What is it that I need to fix? Can you please elaborate?
Lol oh God. I did add value, I added that you're answer to the question in itself is condescending like OP doesn't understand how to make an interchange. He's looking for advice on a junction... you blurted out a dumb answer, gave yourself a pat on the back like you are a cs2 hero. The insinuation is that you just have it figured and he's a noob. Truth is you're a noob.
What? What are all these things you are saying. I am totally lost. He asked for high flow junction idea's. I provided him a highway interchange that I personally like. When he says high flow junction I assumed he's talking about highway interchanges. What other type of junction do you believe OP was talking about? Why is my answer dumb? I gave him an example of something I thought he asked for. What do you mean I patted myself on the back like a CS2 hero? I never said any such thing? Why are you saying I insinuated he's a noob?
(Not a newbie, you say i think he's a noob, a noob is a professional or experienced player who is returning to a new game or new account, a newbie is someone completely new to the game, which makes your argument not make sense)
I am a noob, not a newbie. I have watched a ton of hours of people playing city skylines 1 and 2, and I've played city skylines 1 a lot myself. I've not put hundreds of hours into skylines 2 yet so you could call me a noob but not a newbie to city skylines. I think I am beyond newbie status.
