Is there a way to remove the complaints icon from buildings?
It starts to get very annoying when the game gets to a point where every resident is just whining about high taxes. Pretty much everyone knows that resident complaints are mainly bugs.

Even when i'm actually giving them money through taxes they still complain about it.

Should be an overlay / button to toggle them at the very least.

High taxes because high land value i bet. There is no bug at all and i had those complaints before, you just need to try to understand what is behind those complaints and work it out. Take this opportunity to build medium and high density and stop spamming low density if its that the case.
Look how many of those complaints i have in more than 200k population.

Like in real life ^^ just kidding. For example: High rent notification is no bug. It was also already explained by a lot of people in here and in the live streams. It means that you need to upgrade the density (it actually shows it when hovering the mouse over it....) because the lot is too big/expensive for this household. Citizens/Companies per rent per cell btw.

Call me a dummy for not understanding it but to me it seems that residents just prefer complaining instead of doing something about it like moving out or abandoning the lot
(Cuz everyone knows that the AI is totally capable of making good choices :P)

Although the density upgrading doesn't really work well for factories since there's only one density available...

The problem for me is that i kinda have to keep spamming low density buildings since that's pretty much the main demand for resident zones...

I've noticed that for a few weeks they implemented this in a way that icons would only be visible in top view, not in tilted views. This made my experience much better. Now with the recent update, they changed this behaviour back to original :( So annoying! Can't enjoy the city at all! At least they should size them according to distance or give us an option. Now my only hope is mods.

But you should be able to build a city with just low density.

There are 10000s of cities in the US that only have low. They work. Why can this game?

I totally understand why you want to get rid of those Zots! Why is it so hard for anyone to understand?

You don't need them on all the time. You have the global happiness and those Gawd awful chirper noises to remind you to check it when needed.

There is nothing you can do as far as city design to get rid of them all, just not possible. They are just a nuisance.

We are not children, all we want is a toggle and not to be told "no dear you need that mess. Don't ya know what they are for?". OMG!

100% agree

Would this theoretically be possible in a mod?

Enable dev tools. Hit tab to bring up the dev tools menu. Click the notifications page. Uncheck everything. That will remove all the zots over buildings and objects.

It's a solution but not for anyone who plays the vanilla un modded game.

There is no vanilla solution yet and must be addressed.

Just a simple toggle so our Full UI screenshots don't look so gawdawful.

Please.

I use the dev tools to remove zots. But I agree that option needs to be built in.

Not only because some people do not want to use the dev tools. But also because the dev tools require some extra hassle. First off the setting are not remembered. So every time I load a game. I have to go through the hassle of removing the zots. Plus you only have the option to remove zots that already appear on the screen. So every time a new type of zot appears for the first time since loading. I have to go back into the dev panel and turn off the new zot.

It would be much nicer if this option was built in to the game and it remembered the current settings when saving a game.
