Cities 1 with DLC or Cities 2?
Is Cities 1 with the top DLCs better than Cities 2 base? I have cities one. Just trying to decide if its worth buying the DLC to make it compare to CS2

CS1 naturally.

cs1 + mod used 15 minutes to load my game
cs2 used 15 "seconds" to load my game

CS2

at this point CS1 with DLC is a much better option, too many bugs and performance issues with CS2 atm

cs1 with dlcs better :)

as the game gets better i think ill change my opinion as the only reason im disliking 2 is the fact my super good pc cant handle it, the lags, the crashes and some stuff not working properly, once thats fixed- and mods are added, cities 2 wins

Im going with CS2, but i was never much into modding.

Im never going back to vanilla CS1 road tools

performance - cs1
graphics - I would like to say CS2, but currently it is pixelated due to poor optimization.
quantity of content - cs1
road building tool - cs2
Number of bugs, lack of promised features like better traffic AI and strange disngned simulation that causes a pointless feeling of gameplay - cs2

maybe in a year cs2 will be playable without losing your dignity.

I play on a laptop so heat is a big deal so CS1 + DLC + MODS wins for me.
I would like to see a CS1 v2.0, SC2 produces lots of heat so play it like Ihave a heat timmer on.

Shame on them. What they are trying to do is copy the same business model they did with CS1. So they took Vanilla CS1 and made a better CS2. Then they plan on fleecing us over the next 10 years with the same DLC expansions. They should have taken CS1 with all of its expansion content as the starting point and been innovative from there with new DLC content. Perhaps start a new business model that includes the awesome modding community to encourage content creators. Instead they took the lazy easy way out and it is such a disappointment. This game will not equal CS1 for YEARS. Unfortunately I see another SIMCITY 5 type death coming. So unfortunate greed trumped creativity this time.
CS1 + Dlcs go for it.
CS2 in 1-2 years eventually.

there are other city builders.
highrise city
any Simcity

Obviously right now CS1 has all the DLC so things like designing airports and putting in a large mix of building types is considerably better.

I would hazard a guess that this guy is using a Nvidia card and or has super slow memory. The game is plenty sharp and crisp looking on my machine. It runs perfectly fine.

Actually a good question.

CS1 feels much more complete but requires you to mod it. Takes longer to load in. Actually runs fine.

CS2 way faster loading times, most features you have to modded in CS1 is included. Missing features from the first game and unoptimized mess but can get it working if settings are right.

I'd say both have pros and cons for what they are, I would personally have issue going back to CS1 by how outdated the tools would be. But there's definitely better things to consider from the first game as well.

The road designs and the lack of cartoon graphics is a massive W for CS2 though.

The improved graphics makes me play CS2, but everything is so broken that its not very encouraging. So I dont play as much as I want too, but I cant go back to the cartoonish CS1.
CS2 feels like the most expensive early acces game I ever bought…

Things I hate in CS2

-goverment subsidies
-AI u turn behavior that clogs up traffic flow
-high rent that is impossible to remove even with -10 taxes
-cars running circles at my busstation blocking all my buss traffic.
-high demand for commercial even when half my commercials have “no customers”
-emergency vehicles not behaving as emergency vehicles and just follow traffic like everyone else
- etc etc
