24 hours savegame lost...... thanks for nothing.
Just reached 90,000 people, I save myself after a large population change or hitting a level. For some reason right after i hit 90,000, 12 hours ago, the game crashed and my save is gone. Even the saves i did manually locally and my cloud save. This is complete bull Sh#t.
If this game isn't fixed in the next few months, I am done with it. I really enjoyed playing the game. I also plan on keeping the game as well, but this is completely uncalled for. Standard buyer's should have been given the deluxe edition for free, And deluxe owner's deserve a 40.00 refund for all these problems.

My guess is, It depends a lot on your internet connection - and on steam itself.
Savefiles are pretty big, it takes a while to upload them to the steam cloud, especially on slow internet connections.
Another problem might be if your steam cloud is full; keep in mind you have only a limited amount of space available on steam.
If the manual savefile exceeds the remaining space, it won't be saved.

Another problem might be If you end the game and/or close steam and/or shutdown windows before the steam application has fully uploaded the savegame it's very likely the savegame is gone because it may have not fully uploaded yet.

Lol. It has utterly nothing to do with your internet connection.

The issue is Steam or Colossal Order

its not the game fault, its STEAM CLOUD.
i can say it again .... DEACTIVATE STEAM CLOUD and save local.
since many years i have no problems with savegames not using steam cloud.

You came to the right conclusion, but with the wrong diagnosis.

This is definitely Cities Skylines 2's fault. I have NEVER had problems with Steam Cloud, but somehow this game destroyed my data.

I'd say it's the fault of CS2 *and* Steam.
CS2 because of the huge size of the savegames, Steam for not handling savegames properly until they got fully uploaded, especially when uploading is interrupted.

they did not finish developing the save feature yet, its coming though so dont worry

Anyone else having issues with missing saved games?
I had my save game disappear off of steam cloud when I was saving and the game crashed when I was playing with a GPU overclock.

It's unfortunate but the game seems to delete the old save file before writing the new game file.

My advice is to alternate between local and cloud based saves to have more then one file. Plus you can also try enabling auto save in the settings.
