Farms - One or Many
Is it better to have one big farm, or share the space with multiples if the same type, like 2 grain farms, or 3?

I think one large one is better, given the little space you get for industry areas.

I was interested in this,
but i have been making a few smaller ones in attempt to lower my industry demand.

Maybe i'll change to a big one and see if it makes any difference.

I don't think they have too much of an impact on demand, at least not that I've noticed. It's kinda weird.

You need to build many to get the special buildings. And because the resource areas are so small, you'd never get all of the buildings unless you build the entire map.

I tend to make multiple smaller ones in order to unlock the unique buildings faster...

I don't really see a difference between a single large one because specialty industries have scaling workforce. The min/max workers it can support changes depending on the conditions that affects the company who owns/operates it...

That said... It ALSO helps spread out the load a bit since a company can own multiple locations, having two different companies producing grain helps generate income for both companies & offset some of the economy flux if something else they are making goes belly up (or if the price of rent/imports on something else gets more expensive). helps keep them in the city.

I build multiple smaller ones simply because farm land (and other specialized industry areas) look empty, and ugly as hell. On smaller areas those special mini buildings pop in more dense.

To get the special building you can just plop the farms anyware next to each other in a row or something, it will unlock the rewards then you can delete them

But then your just wasting money and the reward's don't make that money back for you fast enough to be worth it.

TRy to maximize the space for one farm since it gives you more buildings and animations if it can have more employees. As your city grows you will automatically end up having more farms even when you create large ones just because you have so many patches of fertile land. At the beginning it may seem too much to block large areas with only one farm, but as your city grows those sizes will very fast seem way too small in relation to the space a lot of the buildings and highways need.

You can however use smaller portions of farmland to control the way buildings are placed on farmland - check this guide on how to do it: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3073153054
