Garbage is completely broken

So yeah... my city is slowly drowning in it's own filth...

Having double the disposal capacity of the monthly generation hasn't helped, the amount stored is over double my storage capacity and growing. Any time I place a new facility all the trucks go out, then it magically fills to capacity before the 1st one returns. All the trucks that you can see in the screenshot are from OTHER CITIES collecting my garbage....

I have no idea how to fix this, short of abandoning....

There are lots of bugs right now with the garbage system. What worked best for me was to remove all of my incinerators and recycling facilites and rely exclusively on landfills. Note that at the momement the game allows you to buldoze the landfills to remove the garbage on them.

No, the patch notes don't mention anything about the garbage issues.

No.. it did not... they are doing the bug fixes best they can, and some are easy, and some are buried deep in the code or the simulation, and take more time.

Good to know about the bulldozing. Played CS1 for so long it never occurred to me to just doze the landfill. Cheesy but if it works for now then do it.

Yeah, and included the waste toolbar in the screenshot so that people could see it was built too!

Bypassing a bug with another bug >.< I think I'll just start a new one and hang on for a proper fix. Thanks though :)

Since the patch my incinerators started to slowly burn trash, the bar went down but only by 1t every minutes. after one truck arrived it was at full capacity again and stopped working.

I've abandoned my game after my trash issues in 72k pop.

I built a port for my industry and watched cargo ships come in and dump 400T of garbage in it and watched my incinerators fill up...

Why is there no way to turn off importing garbage is beyond me.

The garbage truck pathfinding is terrible. It seems to have little affinity for trash. I saw a garbage truck drive by the airport, but not go in to get the trash. Build a new incinerator and turn on the garbage view and watch the trucks and how the plant fills up. Instead of 20 trucks going in different directions and going to red and orange buildings, about half will follow the exact same route, changing the occasional yellow to green

I didnt test it in other saves but in my current city I didnt build any trash disposal unit relying on export, later on I tought about recycling center to make some money back and to my supprise I realized Im paying 0 (ZERO) for garbage disposal, tried testing if it visual bug and I just simply dont see cost of exporting it, made save and counted numbers. Turns out I dont need to worry about trash and all my city is green as grass in that matter.

Garbage system is completely broken right now. My city is entirely complaining about garbage pilling up. Although I have plenty of garbage facilities, trucks, incinerators, etc. I'm spending half of my city budget on garbage.

I've even followed some garbage trucks. They pass by buildings that are complaining about garbage, they stop, don't pick up ANYTHING. Then the truck remains empty, go away, and the building keeps complaining.

My city reached 220k people and it has been impossible to play because of this garbage issue.

Don't come and talk to me that is "how it's supposed to work". That is a BUG

Check the garbage info view - if the building is green you need to demolish it and rebuild if on an existing city
