Can't change screen resolution

I have a very wide monitor, and up until today I was able to change the resolution so i could have other things open along with the game. Today the game is defaulting to the native resolution and won't allow me to change it. Even in the launcher where It has a setting for resolution it still won't apply it.

Is there a chance you are running in "full screen windowed" ?
If not, I have no idea how to solve this specifically,
but what about this workaround ? :
Change the screen resolution of your windows to the one you want to use in the game - and start the game in "full screen windowed" mode...

Yesterday i was in windowed mode. and it was a lower resolution, a manageable size. been playing it like that since release. but now it's stuck on the largest resolution possible with no option for other resolutions as though the are all missing.
