How to Remove Water?

I'm at a loss here. I had water flood onto the map. I've since raised the land around the body of waters, but I can't get the water that flooded off my map. :(

Having the same problem. Tried making the water deeper (okay misguided since it's connected to the big lake I guess); got rid of the land I had built over the water and then terraformed it back into the river; Removed zones and buildings and roads etc... There was a small bit of recession of the water but then it just flooded the areas that I had fixed...

The only way I've found to remove the water is to flatten the flooded land to a slightly higher elevation, wait a couple seconds, then flatten it back down to the level it was at before.
